Polishing advice
Polishing advice
I recently picked up a "waxmaster 900" at a garage sale. I'm including a picture of the tool in this post.
I realize that this sort of thing is not going to be as effective as a porter cable, but do I run any risks of damaging my paint if I use it to polish my car? I plan on using Prima Swirl.
Also, this thing uses bonnets instead of pads. Will a standard microfiber bonnet be effective?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

This will probably best serve to apply wax/sealant, but I don't know if it'll have enough power to remove many defects. You can look on Autogeek.net or Autoia Car Care to see what bonnets they have available since those will try to mirror the polishing action of foam pads for the Porter Cable or Griots type polishers.
I've had one for years and it's worked well for applying wax and glazes. Before I picked up the Porter Cable, I would use the Waxmaster mainly for application. It was less effective at removal. I've never tried it at any sort of swirl removal so I can't say how effective it might be. Out of the dozens of cars I've waxed with mine I've never had it harm any paint.
