My bluebonnet got slammed by a couple of rogue tumbleweeds yesterday! They left their mark on my passenger door. scratched through to primer I think. Does anybody have a cure? Polish? Airbrush?

Help!

Robyn,

You may want to try Menzerna Intensive Polish. Available at North American Car care...Hope it works

I hope they are not as deep as you initially believed.

What is this "Menzerna Intensive Polish"? How does it compare to Zainos Z5 Polish?

I recently used it on my wifes X5 . It works well on scratches and swirl marks. There is a complete write up on North American Care Care's site. It is not recommended for deeper scratches. If the scratches are minor ( I know no scratch would be minor on my MINI, so Robyn I feel your pain) I believe it would work well.

Cooper4us, I never used the Zaino polish so I don't know how it would compare.

Well, tomorrow is Zaino day. Claybar et al. I will then know how horrifyingly deep the scratch really is. I'll let ya know how it goes.

Have you thought about Zymbol formulated for the color of your car? I have no idea if it will fill in your scratches but it may be worth a look.

Sorry to hear about your encounter.... we have them here in Arizona late summer. they are nasty sharp buggers.

Zymol cleaner wax is good (and pricey) but before that try Meguiar's Scratch X product. It seels for about $8 bucks at your local autoparts store and really works well on minor scratches and swirl marks. It does require at least 3 coats and lots of elbow grease but it does work.

Griot's Garage car care products worked well for me. My MINI got scratched up pretty good from a cheap MINI car cover.

Griot's Garage has three different polishes for different types of scratches. I had to use the grade # 2 and use a orbital machine buffer to get the scratches out.

Came behind that with their Best of Show Wax and the finish looks like new once again. Griot's Garage products are somewhat expensive, but they sure get the job done.
