Anybody use Mcguires Wheel/tire foam?
Has anyone trid the new Mcguires Wheel & Tire Foam cleaner that you spray on and let it sit a few minuites and hose it off?
I'm just wondering if it drys OK or does it leave a film on the wheels. If i could belive the advertisments this will be the greatest stuff ever made for getting the brake dust off of the wheels.
They also make something called "Hot Wheel Cleaner. Is the new stuff different? Does any of this stuff work at all?

It's Meguiar's and yep..been using it for years. Sprays on like shaving cream. I still use a firm bristle brush on the tires to clean them before rinse, and a soft bristle brush on the wheels..though the old instructions used to say not to get on the wheels..I've always had good results using that product on the wheels and tires.

Make sure you actually scrub or rinse off the foam after you let it sit and do it's thing. I usually do on tire or one side of the car at a time. If you wash your car under the sun, the foam dries up pretty quick. I tried doing all 4 tires one time and when I got to the other side it was completely dry. The foam that lifted the particles off the tires and rims left deposits in the paint in my wheels. It looked like dirty liquid was dripping down the rims and dried that way. It was like that after several washes until I finally took the time to polish all my wheels.
This is especially true if you are using one of those foaming cleaner/shiner made for tires only. I guess the oils help the dirt stick in the paint.
Buy the regular wheel cleaner that comes in a spray bottle, not the aerosol as that is the one that foams up. Specifically get the Meguiars Gold Class All-Wheel Cleaner (the black spray bottle) and use a brush when when washing it off. A lot of the foams and other brands have harsher chemicals in them which which is bad if left on too long and dries.
After I rinse and clean it, I sometimes spray a long lasting polish on it while still wet (specifically Nu Finish Spray). The next two time I wash my car, the dirt comes off easily without the wheel cleaner; it helps with reducing the brake dust from the stock brake pads too.
Sounds like a lot, but actually this is pretty fast considering you give them a good polish while drying them at the same time. I don't imagine it taking longer than the normal person job, just adding a spray step that's all.
