1998 Jaguar XJ8 Detailed
My dad has been begging for this all summer and we finally got the time to get it done today. The paint on this car is an overall disaster. After this detail, it is now obvious this car was in an accident and repainted, as there are random paint drips. There are also dozens of touched-up spots that look like someone went after them with an almost-matching bottle of nail polish
In addition, my dad paid some "guy my brother knows" to detail the car last year...who did a fantastic job of imparting swirls and holograms into the paint. The LAST summer, something happened where the antenna broke off the back of the car, and my dad removed the dangling stick part but left the wire flapping in the breeze while he drove around, which left a huge damaged/hazed area of paint to the rear of the antenna.
SO, there were a lot of things we could fix, but tons of little chips and things we could not.
Washed with Mystique, clayed w/Meguiar's white clay kit (which I ran to Target and bought, thinking I hadn't brought mine with me...then found mine after we were done
). Wheels polished by hand with Meguiar's NXT All Metal Polysh, Armor-All on the tires (shhh, I forgot my 4-Star at home). Interior vacuumed and interior surfaces cleaned with Nero.
Polished with Swirl on orange pad, then Swirl on white pad. Hand applied a coat of Epic, then a coat of Banana Gloss. It was nice to use BG on a color where you could see the benefit!
Almost exactly 8 hours in total.
A before/after (right side polished, left side not):

And some money shots:

Gorgeous shots!! Great work!!! Just a few notes..Nero works great on the tires if you have some. It'd be better than Armor all! Also, as a prewash before claying and polishing, you might to wash with something like Gold Class. Nothing wrong with Mystique but since it's a polymer based soap, you are removing any benefits it contains by claying and polishing the paint. Mystique is wonderful as a maintenance wash to keep it going however!

Yeah, I just threw my laundry basket that has most of my stuff in it into Josie for the ride down, and I was missing a few key things
In hindsight, I shoulda just Dawn washed it!

It gets easier with more cars, lol. But the pain still exists, just in different places, lol.
