Prima CosmoNot Cosmoline Remover

Do you have Cosmoline in your MINI or BMW? You betcha. We all have it, and the hands down easiest way to remove it is with Prima's latest product, CosmoNot.

ShowCarSupplies.com Shopping Cart - CosmoNot

Check out this M3 I worked on last night.

Simply using qtips dipped in CosmoNot, removal is effortless and fast

Even for huge hardened blobs like these

Tried CosmoNot on a few other places and it removed grease/dirt as well

While many people have found different ways of removing cosmoline, we need to remember the paint in the engine bay isn't clear coated and with too much rubbing or too strong a solvent, the protective paint comes off too!

I got plenty in stock and a bottle will last you a lifetime!

I spent at least 2 hours with simplegreen last weekend, geez my timing is bad.
It came off the unclearcoated parts with not too much trouble but the areas that were clearcoated were near to impossible. This sounds like a winner.

I've had CosmoNot for the past month in stock, but only got around to using it last night! Sorry to hear about the bad timing, but yeah, it works really well...we're talking minutes to remove all cosmoline shown here. Gives us more time to do the fun stuff!

I wish this had been available last year....I didn't even try to get the cosmo off my R56 after delivery, and of course once the weather got hot the cosmo started running and stained the black trim on both wheel arches. It'll probably do the same this year, but since it's already stained do I really care? :(

Has something to do with making the overseas journey . The Japanese don't have this issues cause they make their cars in Mexico, lol.

I've heard the dealerships will replace the stained trim after a year of ownership. Might give it a try! Then get the CosmoNot, lol.

will this work on the black (plastic) wheel arches? I have a few spots of what seems to be cosmoline the top of em, not a big deal, but it gets me.. I heard that you can bring it to the dealer and theyll replace them but I dont know if thats true. If this works on the wheel arches then im sold, idc about under the bonnet, myself.

Although I haven't tried it on the trim, I know that CosmoNot works on the cosmoline itself, so it shouldn't matter what it's on. It immediately softens and breaks it down for easy removal. I haven't noticed any harmful effects of getting CosmoNot on the plastic, so I don't see why it shouldn't work.

As soon as I get an example I will test it. Quick someone bring me a MINI with cosmoline on it!!!

You're welcome! The timing was good as I was between cars. Those that ordered late Friday or on Saturday got bumped to Monday because of the workload. Plus you are special.

Thanks to Prima's products like Cosmonot and Hydro, this engine bay looks spectacular and not distracting alongside the model!

I'm not sure that car is distracting from the model.

Just tried Cosmonot yesterday. This stuff rules! Works as advertised. 100x better than anything else I've tried.

Removing Cosmoline from the arches? Absolutely, and it works great! Course depending how long the Cosmoline was there, there will likely be a permanent indentation where the drip was, and nothing can fix that except for replacement.

Another use for Cosmonot- I have a new garage floor from Snaplock, and it got roofing tar on it. The Cosmonot was the perfect spray and wipe for the tar. Makes me think it would lake take tar off the car... Anybody use it that way?

Yep, it works great for that too. We removed a lot of tar off the MINIs at MITM thanks to all the road construction.

Basically CosmoNot works great for tar, grease, cosmoline, and any similar substances.

Speaking of oily stains, has anyone tried Cosmonot on the black goop stains you get when the upper engine mount barfs out its hydraulic damping fluid? I'm wondering if it works better/easier than isopropyl alcohol.

I've tried and it depends on how old it is. If it's been there for years, I've found that CosmoNot doesn't do very much for it, but if it's relatively recent, it works ok. I haven't tried IPA so I can't comment.
