Dirty stripes

Have a new (to me) mini - ly/w R50 it has white bonnet stripes and invisishield, it was installed over the stripes, so there is dirt on the edges of the stripes where it overlays down about 4 inches. It looks like my only alternative to get it clean is to remove the invisishield any suggestions ? sorry too snowy for pics

A body shop could trim the invisishield close to the edges of the stripe, removed the invisishield form the top of the stripes. Hopefully leaving the stripes and the rest of the invisishield intact.

The only issues I had with my OEM bonnet stripes was staining. Installer probably should have trimmed around the stripes leaving a cleaner appearance and preventing trapped moisture and dirt from getting between the layers.

Let us know what you end up doing and how it works. I have stripes and was planning on invisishield, but I can envision perfectly what you are describing and don't want to run into that issue.

My silver OEM stripes are stained. Will anything work to clean them? I've tried a clay bar so far and that didn't work.

Isn't there a warranty on the invisishield ?
I had it installed at the dealer before I took possession.
It is my understanding that they will cover this situation.
Hmm, I need to go dig out that warranty and check...

I have removed strips up to a clear bra, then re-striped over the bra and where the removed strips where. My photos have disappeared from NAM, so not much point taking you to the thread.

Done

That sounds like a great way to handle it, although, it doesn't look like fun removing the stripes.

if you do remove vinyl, I STRONGLY suggest getting a pack of plastic blades instead of using a metal blade.

This is another reason why stripes should always go over clear bra.

or upon application of the clear bra, just trim it off into 3 sections so it doesn't cover over the top of the stripes....
