When I saw this thread I thought to myself, "How on earth could people talk about removing water spots on glass for 2 pages??" Then I read the entire thread and I'm cracking up!
I should've known that following a little repetition, the thread has turned to silliness! You guys really crack me up!
Good ole' Detailing 101! That's why I keep coming back.
(well, for the comedy AND to offer help too, of course!

Seems you've received plenty of answers including my own, though not from me directly. ![LOL](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif)

Nothing more to add other than I just wanted to participate.![Wink](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
The Nomad with distilled water is the ultimate way of washing a MINI for those without access to a hose like us apartment dwellers. You can wash under direct sunlight and assuming all the soap has been rinsed off, you don't even need a towel to dry it. Just rinse, and let dry in the sun.
Water spots are calcium deposits in the water. Bottled drinking water "minerals added for flavor" and that's why you don't want to wash your car with that but distilled water is mineral free.
Water softeners and filters all work to a certain degree. It really depends how hard the water is. 500ppm is pretty hard water, and that's what I had at my first shop. When I used to have a house, the water was around 230ppm. Filters reduce the problem, but I have yet to see one that works as well or as consistently as distilled water.
Course a Nomad is essentially a battery powered pressure washer. You can also use any pressure washer that can work with a siphon hose to draw distilled water from a bucket or container to effectively have the same or better due to higher PSI output. I had a portable Karcher pressure washer and it worked well. I rigged up the largest bug sprayers I could find, outfitted it with a spigot, and used that as a 5 gallon semi pressurized water source for my Karcher. Worked much better than simply drawing water from a standing source.
When the problem already exists on glass I will do one of two things in this order.
1.) Use Vinegar
or
2.) Polish them away using a PC and Prima Swirl

Been trolling here looking for a straight up answer on this one. What is the best way to remove water spots on glass and/or keep them from appearing. When I wash I sometimes get water spots as I usually do my glass last. After washing and drying the car I go after the glass but by that time, especially on a sunny day, I have spots on the glass. Any tips for removal and prevention?
Thanks, Brian
