Tipping for clear bra
Tipping for clear bra
So I've got my new Clubman at the detailer's for a wash, wax and clear bra installation. I'm going a little overboard with the coverage but I'm a neurotic new parent and have already suffered a tiny rock ding on the roof
(just had the car since Friday! But boy I LOVE this car!!
).
Did any of you tip for these services? I'm not sure what is customary. I mean we tip for coffee and these guys are doing a hella lot more work than that. I'm expecting the charges to be around $1500...
Any thoughts? I'm planning on using this place at least once a month for maintenance washes and waxes (hard for me to wash in the winter months). I am trying to sign up for a detailing course (have read through many of the posts which have been helpful but could use help with clay baring as this feels strange for me -- was practicing on my last car in prep for this one) -- I want to keep this baby well protected!
Thanks!

Check out the NAM Alliance articles. I've written a number of beginning how to articles on this.
I'm sure the installers would appreciate a tip. I get tipped once in awhile from my customers. Some do it and many don't. For me, it's not expected but it's a very kind gesture when they do.
As far as going overboard--clearbra has both good and bad points. Enjoy your MINI!!!

Thank you Richard. I have your car care kit and appreciate the laminate that was included (the steps). I also am going to print your article from the first NAM publication. I have been trying to track down a copy of your DVD detailing instructions, do you have any of these available? For a few weeks I have not been able to load your website, is this currently down?
I went with Ventureshield rather than 3M, so I hope I avoid a couple of the "bad" parts of the clearbra...

Cool thanks!
Yeah my site has been undergoing some changes. I'm working with the webhost to get things fixed. I really can't go another week with it down, so I'm determined to get it fixed this week.
I can still take orders manually, so if you're looking for the DVD, I can process that for you--just call toll free 866-707-9292
I'm also working on a series of short video clips that will be viewable from my store on each of the Prima & SCD products. The first one is on Banana Gloss, so I hope these will be good references as well.
