That's good to hear. But I wouldn't let the dealership wash my car even if it was protected by the entire US military, let alone a coat of BG.

No swirls this time, but you're playing Swirl Roullette with the dealership.

No applicators for Hydro---you spray it on a freshly washed car that's still dripping with water--and wipe it dry.

BG, I like to use either a MF sponge or a MF mitt.

Slick can be used anytime as a QD.

Divide your products into applications.
Hydro, BG, Epic are wax products designed to protect the paint.

Slick is a maintenance product used to give you extra shine when the car is a little dusty.

Does that make sense?

also, if i have slick, hydro and bg... can slick be used in addition to hydro and bg? If so, what lineup should i use? I've never used any of the products.... have them, just never used them yet. =)

It's just that M No. 7 is widely available from your local auto supply store and Prima products must be mail ordered - and with shipping costs, it does not make sense to order that alone. BTW I have used Swirl, Amigo, Epic on my car and am very very pleased with the results. Thx.
You can use #7 aka Show Car Glaze on top of Epic, but I see no reason. It's a glaze, a product that provides a temporary shine. If you want more shine out of Epic, try Amigo first which is also a glaze with polymers.

A little off topic but.....

If I put down 3 layers of Epic with proper cure time between coats as a base. If I then use BG over that like once every 6mo lets say will it extend the life of the Epic? Then detail with Slick for normal bug bird clean up.

Basically does BG extend the life of Epic?

IIRC, it doesn't extend the life of Epic. Epic (and any wax) will break down chemically over time, regardless of what's on top of it.

For me, the purpose of layering up is to add layers of protection, and also to improve the look of the finish.

Slick is a quick detailer. Good for getting light dust off, or a spot of tar or bird crap.

Hydro is wax-while-you-dry. So you wash your car, and then spray VERY lightly on each panel, then dry it.

BG is good intermediate wax. Not as long-lasting as Epic, but longer lasting than Hydro.

So how I do things (order of operations):

Full detail maybe twice/three times yearly, with full application of Epic.
Every 6 weeks or so, application of BG.
Every wash, application of Hydro.
Slick for cleaning "touch-ups" as above, when washing is not appropriate or necessary for the problem.

Yep, all makes sense. Thank you both!
