Cleaning Bonnet Stripes
Lets try another tact...
I have a stain on my Mini roof flag... it was imported by the PO from Mini UK... its silver Union Jack on a Dark Silver '06... not easily replaceable, nor do I think the dealer will do it, even though they installed it and its a Mini part (just not for the US)...
So how could this be cleaned?

That depends on the situation. They would be covered under warranty if your washer jets are weeping/leaking. My dealer replaced both of my bonnet stripes when they installed the check valve to stop the weeping washer jets.

Anyway, it depends on what the stain is. I would try cleaning the spot with a little vinegar, and if that didn't work I'd bust out the PC and a gentle polish.
But I'd be curious to hear what the stain is first.

My white OEM bonnet stripes became dingy & splotchy looking after about a year so I polished them with my PC & some Meguiar's Speed Glaze. It did no damage to the black edges & my stripes became perfectly white & brand new looking again.
F.Y.I. It's been a year since polishing them & my stripes still look perfectly white. I swear I think my Smart Carwash magically does something to clean them better. MBE it's the polymers I dunno

The stain is the "weeping" from the windshield washers. Nice little trail from the washers down the bonnet that crosses the stripes. A quick detailer cleans it off the bonnet but not the stripes.
I agree with bamatt... using the PC on them is an effective way to go.
I would use either Prima Amigo or Klasse All-In-One with the orange pad (or white will probably work if you don't have an orange) or Prima Finish with the white pad.
*Just be sure to avoid taking the PC from the paint to the stripe- you don't want to catch the edge of the stripe with the edge of the pad. Otherwise, it's very safe. Just keep it right on the stripe or half-way on and half-way off sort of thing.
I also agree that you should get the washers fixed to prevent more problems though too!
