I asked my MA yesterday to not let them "...wash, wax, detail, or otherwise touch the paint on the new car."

Based on her response, she now clearly thinks I am crazy

ML you thought you were normal?

so i decided to motor my FitS to get some indian food last night. was a good drive. the car is slow but it's fun to drive. it's like driving a sports car but in slow motion.

the swede is doing great with my VPiano. they really sing well together when i layer a nice pad with the piano. wow. i mean, WOW!
and the eletric piano's in the nord is phenominal. just wat i wanted to add to my vpiano.

Well winter time is almost over, so you'd better get over it!

So I emailed her back, and told her yes, really, I plan to do a full strip-and-detail as soon as it hits the driveway.

She wrote back again:

"really!?! Whatcha gonna do to it??
so they gotta clean the inside and window and stuff...no??"

I guess I could let them wash the windows...

how about letting them wash their hands before touching your new car?

Yesterday a few fellow employees of mine were standing outside on break chatting about our cars and a guy I work with says to me "Nick your wheels are dirty! You better clean those!" And I said "Ha I washed my car 4 days ago, but the brake pads on this thing are the worst!" and he says " I use this wheel cleaner that you just spray on before you go through the carwash and when you are done the break dust is all washed off. I said "You lost me at carwash." Some people... no...most people... just don't understand!

I would put carbotech pads on any new mini as soon as it was in my garage... just me.

I just finished pulling the disintegrated OEM crank pulley/damper off my car. New one going on tomorrow (ATI Super Damper).

Failed damper 100 miles from home = no fun.

Hmm, that's a thought. I love the Carbotechs on Clara, and the TSW rotors. Especially with white wheels, the pads are gonna have to go...

Lots of folks want to stick with OEM, for whatever reason...

The OEM prices on rotors and pads are so crazy, you can sell ones with very few miles at a discount and still get quite a bit of cash...

FWIW, there's nothing wrong with the OEM 2nd gen rotors. I run those now with my bobcats with no issues.

Good to know. I love how the TSWs look, but they're not really necessary. And actually...might look really stupid with the white wheels. We'll see I guess.

Yah, MINI needs to figure out a way to make their pads dust less.

The stock akebono's on my Z clamp very hard and barely dusts.
