I'm going to detail my rental car

There is something wrong with me, I know. But Clara is off at her little sleepover at Richard's shop *glares at the woodchipper* so what else am I supposed to do?

It's an ugly little red Chevy Cobalt (to think, it's a "free upgrade" from what I actually booked *shudder*). And it's filthy.

Ugly cars need love too, right?

Well that's pretty much all I have. Maybe it'll be more worthy of driving around if it's at least shiny. I bet it's not even waxed!

What are you crazy. Wash it when the sun is nearly down so it looks better than it is. And Jeffc is right, down use the good stuff.

I believe Richard once detailed a loaner MINI that he got while his old MC was in for service..

EDIT: Here's the link: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=50820

Give it a wash, a small spritz of Hydro, hug it, and call it a day.

That's all the love it deserves.

ML- you're beginning to sound like OG where he detailed his loaner MINI.

You must have something better to do with your time. Read a self help guide, or watch OctaneGuy's video on washing your car again... ;-)

Nope, I'm doing it when I get home

You can't just expect me to drive around in a filthy car all week!

Go for it!

and practice all the stuff you've always wondered about but never tried on your own car, like rubbing compound, the PC set on high, and on and on. It will look better than when you started, and if you make a mistake, just drive down a dusty road before you turn it in!

Matt

Heyyyyy now THAT sounds like fun!

In a related note, the windshield in this car seems like it's right on top of my head.

Well remember, even a Cobalt can look like a MINI with some vinyl!

Someday, some kid is going to buy that rental as their first car.
It would be nice if someone gave it a little loving care, just once before then.

You know, I washed and Hydroed it...and all it did was remove the dirt and reveal the INSANE swirling underneath.

How funny ! I just rented a car last week (four day rental) and I had ordered a plain economy job $19.00 a day from Enterprise and when I went to pick up the car the guy said "I don't want to walk all the way down the isle for your econo job so I'll just up grade you to a mid size for no extra charge. It was a red Cobalt. . The first mistake I made was that it was red (Not a good choice for being un noticed on the freeway) not to mention that it was a cobalt. Second mistake was that It had a fair size dent on the side and other chips and dings which I had the guy note on the paper work but of course when I returned the car, I had to prove that it didn't happen while I had the car. This car was an absolute piece of junk. Dirty when I picked it up and dirty when I brought it back. Didn't bother me a bit.

That's sayin' a lot coming from Paulie. He likes clean cars.

I can't believe anyone would waste their time and money washing a rental. Unless it was to try something new, but even then, if the car gets screwed up they'll charge you to fix it (even if it still looks better than it did before).

when i complained to my dealer about my warranty work on a brand new
civic they were doing for the entire week, they put me in a red cobalt
revealing to me wat a true pos is. it worked... i stopped complaining.

i drove the pos 2min back to my office. then called the wife to pick
me up.

my civic's been great since they fixed it...
