After a nice motoring this weekend the bonnet is covered in dead bugs. I attempted to get most of them off but there are still little legs and wings everywhere. Is there a easy way to get them off. It seems like I have to soak each one and try to rub them off. It's taking forever!!

I have seen some pics and mine was not as bad as some posted here.

I have heard the Simple Green (my new favourite substance, per my Holy Moly thread) will get rid of 'em, but the verdict seems to be out as to whether it strips the wax/polish--I think it was decided that it would. And I just clay barred mine this afternoon with EXCELLENT results on both road boogers and bug remnants. That was a pretty simple process, but it does get rid o' the wax fer sher (from what I understand)

First make sure you car had wax already applied. Then always have a soapy water in a spray bottle handy and during "gas or food stop" spray it on affected area and it will easily remove.

If you haven't tried a Clay Bar, I highly recommend it. You'll get the results you're looking for.

Would you recommend after using the clay bar, to rewax/polish? Does the clay bar indeed strip the wax? I plan to use the Zaino system when I get my Mini. From what I understand the bar preps the car for the ZFX/ZF-2. So, everytime you get some crap you can't remove w/ the regular wash, you use this clay bar, right?

The best thing to get bugs off of your car is "P21S Total Auto body wash". The name is confusing because you don't actually use it to wash your car. Just wet down the area that has the bugs, spray on the cleaner and then wipe away. This stuff is awesome. You can also put a few squirts in a bowl of water and use a wet rag to wipe down all of the interior plastic parts. Nothing works better than this stuff for the interior as well. It can be purchased from The California Car Cover Company as well as on line at http://www.carcarespecialties.com. They also have great cleaning tips on their site.
