any thoughts on No Touch Deep Purple wheel cleaner
I have some real stubborn brake dust on my 03' wheels, previous owner wasn't all that particular about this area of the car. A friend gave me some Deep Purple all wheel cleaner just wondering if anyone has used it and is it effective on real stubborn stains?
I just detailed a car that had the WORST brake dust, and on the rear wheels oddly enough. The customer brought some wheel cleaner over because he thought I'd need it... and boy was he right. I used a product similar to that and it didn't do anything for me. I had to use a more abrasive dish cleaning pad (not steel wool
) and scrub for 15 mins on each wheel. It will come off eventually.

I'd be careful. Some wheel cleaners are very harsh. Long ago I used some wheel cleaner on my wifes Acura & damaged the finish on the wheels.
I believe it was Eagle One brand. Now I just use the same soap that I use on the car. If the wheels are really bad I use clay on them. A friend ruined a set of wheels with a kitchen scrubby pad. It looked like Scotch Brite to me.

I've had good luck with this product on both my 05 S , Civic Coupe, and 07 MC:
http://www.wheelwax.com/
And, you can use Griot's Speed Shine or Prima Hydro to touch it up in between wax applications. But, the wax, in my experience lasts a long time.
