For home and MINI, I highly recommend Miele Vacuums. They are pricey but well worth the money. The attachments fit in most all the little grooves and recesses of a MINI. I clean homes for a living and have found this machine to do a super job.

I think for a garage style vac (as opposed to a portable, wee vac), the Metro Vac N Blo (or the Jumbo Vac N Blo) is superior to all the rest. I don't own one, unfortunately, but only because it's on that long, growing list of things to buy! In fact, I curse our current shop vac every time I use it and say to myself that we really need to go buy a Metro ASAP. I've used friend's Metros and they're great. Lots of suction, neat & tidy, and lots of cool attachments that are specifically for car nuts.

I've also read numerous reviews on them and they are loved by all. As for where to get one, there are several online retailers. Just do a search using "Metro Vac N Blo" and you'll have lots of options. Most of our online competitors sell it. Here's a link to the manufacturer's site: Metro Vacs

Heck I use to be a ShopVac kid...so you are telling me Metro is the way to go? Honestly though my latest ShopVac isn't so spectacular in power and build quality :(

If you have any kind of shopvac (any brand - I have a Ridgid) I HIGHLY recommend one of these sets:

Mr. Nozzle

It's a WAY WAY superior hose, extension and nozzle set vs. the relatively inflexible hard plastic hose that comes with most of these things... makes you feel like you're using a "regular" canister vac in the house... but with mega-suck... and has some nice attachments including a super sucking crevice tool that rocks for vac'ing the MINI.

I have the RIDGID 4 Gal. 5.0 Peak HP Portable Pro Vac $69.97:

The best wet/dry vac i have owned, hands down. Its light, powerful, and it will pick up crumbs to dog hair (which is a prob. for me). Also it has a 20ft cord which is nice.

Hmmm.... this looks pretty cool! I wish it was just a tad less expensive though. Not because it's not worth it but it makes it a harder choice between upgrading to the Metro system altogether or just buying this for now to add to my current shop vac. :impatient

Something to think about though for sure!

Here is what looks like the exact same vacuum Griot's sells for $200, on sale at HSN for $68 + $13 shipping = $81. The one at HSN includes an additional hose and accessory wall mount hanging bracket that the Griot's vacuum does not include.

I may buy a second one for the house (from HSN not from Griot's).
