Vacuum attachments

What do people use to clean small cracks and crevices that accumulate dust and eventually grime?

Are there tiny brush attachments that I can attach to my shopvac to get into these tiny places?

Thanks,
k

Certainly. Go to Sears and buy the car cleaning attachment kit.

^^ What he said. In addition to that, I'd also add Sears' Micro Cleaning Nozzle Kit. It's very useful

cooper8168, that is exactly what I am after. I have a few of those pieces that are included in the car cleaing kit but the micro cleaning kit is exactly what I need.

Thanks!

Glad I could help.

I actually had originally bought it for cleaning off gear in my recording studio, only to discover later that it works great for the car as well.

i use a boar's hair paint brush, duct tape/masking tape, swab, vac, damp
MF towel, etc. etc. etc. anything that can get to it.

the only thing i DONT recommend is using compressed air near displays.
dust can (will) end up inside your screen.

Huh...is there a adapter thing that will make that stuff fit on a regular vacuum hose? I'm thinking the shop-vac hose is bigger than a normal one, right...and I use a Dyson to vacuum my car. Most of the attachments that come with it are okay for it, but some of those teensy ones would be good for the reaaaaaly tight spots...

^^ Yes - Sears has all sorts of step-down adapters. I think you'll need 2.5" - 1.25", but check the packaging to be sure. That larger nozzle that comes with the micro kit is meant to be used with all attachments, so the step-down adapter needs to fit that, not the much smaller individual attachments.

Airgun. I sometimes will spray mist a little water in the vents or cracks and then blow it out. Works very well.

I bought the micro-nozzle kit today at OSH (they carry Sears stuff) for $12.99.

The Dyson is sort of weird, it doesn't have a normal attachment hose, but it was very very close to fitting the attachment part of the kit right inside the hose opening.

So I modded it with some electrical tape wrapped around the attachment part a couple of times to tighten up the fit and it worked great.

My stereo and climate control panel buttons have never looked so dust-free!
