This will be the first car I have owned that has vinyl decals on it. After searching the forums, and reading all the good info, I understand that I can wax over the stripes without a problem (correct?). The question I have is after I pick the car up from the dealer I was going to use Griot's paint sealer. Can that go over the decals or do I need to tape them off??

 

you will first want to remove the dealer wax using Griot's PaintPrep using
50/50 with water. use 2 bottles... one spray bottle with PaintPrep, the
other with tap water and spray evenly over the car. use a MF towel
to gently work the combo around. and keep spraying additional water
for 2min so paintprep has time to break down the wax. DO NOT let the
product air dry on the car.

then you can hose off with tap water. do a complete wipe down.

now you're ready to apply the sealant. you can apply over the stripes.

In general, you can use any products on the vinyl that you can use on your paint, with the exception of an abrasive polish or machine.
