[Sun, May 6] Caravan back to DC and surrounding areas

So we have all the threads for caravans down to the dragon. But no thread for the caravan back. I think we should probably set one up, cuz we would probably have more people coming back at the same time.

Since I will be new to the dragon, I suggest other people recommend meet spots and times. I think the caravan back will be pretty cool.

Some people roll out at 0 dark 30. Last year a bunch of us left around 9-10ish. Depends on when you want to leave. I can almost garuntee you will find someone to cruise back with. I agree, it is much more fun to do it with a group!

I'd definitely be interested in going in a group, but I'm not an early morning person. Think late morning. Very late morning.

Yeah, you missed it last time!

As for me personally, since it is a 9 hour drive, I am getting home the easiest and quickest route...both my husband and I have to work the next day, we will probably leave in the not so early, early morning.

We're not leaving the area until Wednesday, so we will miss caravan's back. Michael heads to Florida and I head to Williamsburg for the 400th anniversary at Jamestown.

Around ten sounds good to me, as does Blue Ridge and/or Skyline. Then again, adding those might warrant an earlier departure...

Any conclusion ever reached on this? I am about to roll, and may be nearly incommunicado for the duration.

Edge needs company to go with so he doesn't get a ticket again, LOL (although, I guess that ticket WAS on the way down, wasn't it???) :p

LOL - yes, it was on the way to MOTD, driving from Charleston, SC after a business trip there.

The irony of using company to avoid a ticket is that I usually end up leading the pack anyway, and therefore assuming the largest ticket risk.

either there or in the back of the pack, if no one else sees the cop. so the last one speeding can get caught too. but the front is higher risk.
