Hang out place in Fairfax or Annandale
Would like some input for a good hang out place or a cozy coffee place in or around Fairfax and Annandale area with some parking lot for our Mini. Thank you.
I frequent the a few coffee shops in Arlington. Probably my favorite right now is Rappahanock Coffee off of Columbia Pike. It's not in Fairfax or Annandale, but the coffee is good and the parking is free and safe.
Buzz Coffee shop in North Old Town is nice, and after hanging out there, people could take a quick drive down GW Parkway and Old Colechester Rd. Lots more fun than Fairfax. Buzz Hot Chocolate rocks too!
Thank you.
Both of the places, the Buzz http://www.buzzonslaters.com/buzz.htm and Rappahannok Cafe' sounds good. I will have to try that sometimes, may be next week.
By the way, I would like to have some more input, the place that more casual and easy to access. Any idea?
Thanks again.

I too am in Annandale, I like the Jukebox Diner, they've got great coffee and a very good genuine Diner Feel. Parking is good too.

Is the Hard Times Cafe in Alexandria still in business? I used to frequent it in the '80's when I lived in Crystal City. It was a great place to hang back then. Great beer selection and great chili!
On the coffee shop question, have you all tried Misha's on the corner of Patrick and King St. in Old Town. The coffee is the best in the city. The owner roasts the beans there on site. I went to Buzz a couple times just after it opened up, but you'll find me at Misha's 2-3 times a week.

Murky Coffee has a location in Arlington on Wilson Blvd across the street from the Silver Diner. Guaranteed the best coffee and espresso in the area! Parking can be a bear at times though.
Between Misha's, Buzz and Panera, I would have to choose Buzz. I used to walk to Panera on Rt 1 when I lived there, but trying to get them to make a capuccino the way I liked was an ordeal and often involved the manager. Misha's is smokey, and frankly, I hate cigarrette smoke... it's also tricky for parking. Buzz has great deserts, parking isn't hateful (not great, but not hateful) and it's in a quiet, safer region of Alexandria. Best of all, it's open till midnight every night of the week. I'll be glad to meet there if anyone is checking it out.
