thx! the plates made my day. 2 weeks exactly (14 days). first time in my driving career that a dmv kept their word! ha!

 

It depends on which state you are in...We looked into it. I don't remember which it is, but you need more (like 100) for some MD, or DC or something like that.

 

And the hardest part, what state would we get them in? Since we are DCMM we would probably do DC plates, but do we have ## members in DC that would want to do plates? Or would we have enough to do the in MD, VA, and DC? Unfortunatly its a great idea, just probably not very feasable :(.

 

It would be different if we were in one state.

 

Is there a way to search the 'net to see if a MD Vanity Plate has been taken already? I know it's possible in VA, but can't seem to locate a website for MD.

 

Unfortunately there is no such website. All you have to do is go into your local MVA and tell them that you want Personalized plates. Then you fill out the form and when you give it back to them they will check to see if the plate you want is available. You might be able to sweet talk them into tell you if its available before you fill out the form (I however was not able to). Now keep in mind that even if they say it is available, it might not be. They checked my choices and I happened to get my first choice! Hope that helps!
