Seems to be another nice day tomorrow. No rain after 8am in the forecast.

I will take "Maxwell" to the strip for the first time.

See you guys around 10.30am at McDonald's near the entrance of the Capital Raceway.

Gate will open at 11am. Test & Tune start @ noon.

Lets burn some tires.

So much fun today. But that doesn't count I fried the clutch and MINI-Bee's radiator issue.

MINI-Bee's Mini showed some good time slips with 14.951 sec @ 92.23 on the first run.
Very strong for the mildly mod MCSa, please note, auto-transmission.

My Maxwell got no traction all day, spin tire all the way on 1st and 2nd. The best time of the day was 15.12 sec @ 92.09. Short from my 15 flat target.
The 60' times were all over as well, 2.33 sec was the best that I have.

On the last run, I tried to slip clutch during launch form ~3k rpm. Result, my clutch was fried. Smoke and burning smell all over.

Maybe its time for new clutch, flywheel and LSD.

We had good time, but wish there were more Mini showed up.
May be next time.

Gina couldn't make it so our son drove her car while I aired out the Roadster on a beautiful day...

Gina's JCW got off to a slow start but on the 4th and final run with our son at the wheel had a timeslip of: 13.28 @ 105mph... Pretty damn quick

We had a good time... It was nice to get together with fellow MINI owners once again....

Yup... Factory installed JCW with 4000 miles and run-flats... I wonder what it could do with a set of Hoosiers?

That was very..very impressive, the strongest stock JCW I have seen. You should sent the time slip to here, your Mini's broke all the record.

My baby impressed the stuff out of me and I was hoping for like a 15.1 but I eneded up getting an impressive 14.951 at 92.23 mph! And yes that is an automatic and with run-flats! So it was not that bad for me or her! Although check out this link... https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...40#post1418140
And I will post the time slip soon.

Hmm...2600 lbs Mini and trap speed @ 105 mph, ..... you will need ~220 whp assuming your Mini is 2600 pounds. This is very interesting.
14 flat may be doable, but 13.3 @ 105 mph is amazing. Even for the GP.

If you don't mind, I would like to study more.
What was his 60' time, 1/8 time and mph.
Are you sure, your JCW is bone stock? The time looks more like JCW with spray or twincharge MCS.
Nice run indeed.

Here is a pic of the time slip...I had to invert the colors so it could be seen better. But my baby got lucky number 1 in the right lane and Maxicooper is number 501 in the left lane. Keep in mind this was only the first run. Maxicooper ran a few more, but not me.

Oh yeah... and check out my slow reaction time, just imagine if it was a little better like my second and last run which I had a reaction time of .622 instead of the slow 1.1.45. hmmmm just imagine the possibilities if I could get a perfect reaction time...

MINI-Bee's Mini is very strong. Really strong for a mild mod. I might have to ask Helix what kind of steriod he put into MINI-Bee's Mini. I want one.

Alta cai, Milltek exhaust and Helix 17% sure do go well together.

With my new clutch, may be I will try with him one more time.

Thank you for the compliment, I will pass it on to her next time I see her. I am sure she will be pleased with it. And I think I might need to ask Helix myself I think that 17% reduction pulley helps out a whole lot!! (that might be his steroids, besides it was kind of Alex's idea ) You get your car fixed and I will get mine fixed and we can run done here at MIR and see what happens, a little better track!

I'm doing great... The Roadster took 1st place at Saturday's car show in the 911 Class... It's amazing the number of P-car owners that didn't even know Porsche made a Roadster...

My son had a blast running the MINI at the dragstrip on Sunday but we are really looking forward to autocross season...

Hello everyone. I am Thomas, bull30's stepson. I just noticed that I read my time slip wrong. It was my first time at the drag strip and I was a little confused about the time slip and how it worked. I did not run a low 13, an evo did. I ran a high 15. Sorry for the confusion. But I still had fun going down the drag strip.

Well, that makes a bit more sense. Lows 13s for a stock JCW is probably asking too much but hey ... you all had a great time! EVO, sure.

Welcome to NAM rabbit07!

That's almost make me give up mod'in my MCS and buy a stock JCW.
We did have a really good time. We definitely do that again after, new ic and new clutch and/or flywheel, if not lsd.

new clutch? Bummer. If you need a new flywheel, consider a lightweight one for quicker acceleration. Just do a search on flywheels

Yeah, I'm thinking about going that route as well.
Since they have to drop the tranny anyway, I might go with Quaife, some light weight flywheel and better clutch. If....I have enough budget.
