My body shop was having MAJOR problems in getting parts for my fiance's car and said they would NEVER work with them ever again !!
They went to Sterling instead and had no problems !!

I just don't understand why Tate has SO MANY PROBLEMS with all their departments.

Myself, I would rather drive an extra 50 miles to Mini of Towson who has a GREAT Service department !!!

And the better question is, why do so many continue to use them for service

Because they don't know better.
Because they think "that won't happen to me."
Because sometimes people value convenience over quality.

I go because after the initial problems (BTW I was the diffficult .one when I was complaining about Tate 2 years ago!!!) they are doing OK. I do not have major car problems - lately - and when I go for repairs I get a loaner (MINI) and receive a professional treatment.

As far as parts etc. MINI messed up my GP Special Delivery (which I paid $800.00 extra for ) by delivering a GP w/ a cracked bumper. There was no middleman as MINI took care of the replacement : it took over a month and I did not get an apology or similar.. so maybe MINI itself has some problems and issues in dealing with his own customers... and some dealers follow suit.

With Tate and their overall treatment of customers and my previous ownership of a BMW I am turned off from anything BMW.

If that gives you any explination why I got the Lexus.

Actually I bought and had my BMW serviced @ Passport BMW and got cold service and long waits. Buying experience wasn't up to par either.

Lexus - (at least @ Lexus of Silver Spring) was a breeze and stress free. My first service is Friday for the 5k service. Will be able to report Sat on the experience.

Oh snap, low blow... I know you meant that in a joking way.
But I had 2 MINIs and drove them for about 3 years combined. And I've been a DCMM member since mid 2004.

Relax, I love the MINI and the MINI community. That is why I stick around. And besides the Lexus forums I have found are so boring and are totally ricers at heart.

So you just need to counterfeit that Lexus man. Stipes on the hood, etc.

Hey if I could run the Dragon in a E150 conversion van last year, then I think 'the other Mark' will be fine in his Lexus.

The funny thing, even driving the van was fun. Rather different technique to say the least. But a different kind of fun. Nowhere near the fun of the MINI of course.
