Lastrega-- was it just the bumper cover? or the frame behind it as well?
Bat-- What broke on the exhaust? Mine doesn't sound any different than usual? did you have to get the frame behind the cover replaced?
Thanks for any help guys. I just want to be armed w/ the correct questions.

TATE body shop is replacing the bumper and like CmdrVimes said in his post, I just need to show up and get the bumper installed. I did have to wait three weeks before they could get the bumper ready.. now I need to find the time to go

So, what is the prefered route when making an insurance claim? Do I go through my insurance co. to make the claim? Or do I go Directly to his? Which is better?
Or you can go through the other driver's company and not pay anything up front. Just be aware the process may not be as fast.
More questions, let me know. I'll be in class this morning but I'll reply at lunch time.
My prefer method is to go directly thru the other driver's insurance.. as I don't see why paying out of my pockets when I haven't done anything wrong.
I had a similar experience in the past with USAA and because the other driver was USAA as well and at the end, I got screwed by USAA.
The latest incident (the MINI) the other driver had USAA so I did not bother to call my insurance and USAA adjuster has already cut me a check. What I find most annoying is that the time/money I am losing because of the incident (go to the body shop for the estimate then come back for the repairs go back to pick up the car .. is not reimbursable by the insurance co. I think is unfair , after all because of the accident, I am losing working billable hours..
Maybe Chili Red & Pepper White can explain this concept...

Hey...at least you all were witness to your damages. Mine happened last week, when my car was "safely" parked it a parallel space, with about 6 feet of clearance front and back. I came out from the barbershop to find the left rear clipped, and of course, no one around and no bystander willing to recall who had hit me.

Most policy contracts will reimburse you for time lost from work if the claim qualifies under your Medical Payments, Bodily Injury Liability, or Personal Injury Protection coverage.
However, no other coverage (collision, comp, physical damages liability, etc) has payments for time lost from work.
Why ? I'm sure it's a simple matter of dollars. Could you imagine how much insurance companies would have to pay out if they were responsible for lost wages due to taking cars in for estimates or dropping them off for repairs ? And who would pay for it in the long run ? You, the consumer.
I know the feeling... I was rear-ended last year and was inconvenienced, had to take my MINI to the other insurance company's estimator and then to the repair shop.
