Washington Auto Show 2007
There are often some cars that you can sit in and some you can't. i.e. there was only one Saturn SKY and one AURA last year and they were no-sitters. However, there were several VUEs and IONs open for exploration. I don't remember if any of the minis were locked. I was totally absorbed in the checkmate MCS on display. I left my fingerprints all over that thing, inside and out. Check out the comments on this picture
I guess we'll see!
Yeah - I can make the 24th or 26th, but since I work until 6pm I'd only be able to make it there from 7-9pm. I could make the 25th, but that depends on how eager I am to go to the club dinner that evening if I don't do my usual Thursday-night curling (YES, curling!
).
Sunday would work out much better, I think. Although if there are free tickets, I could be persuaded to make an appearance on the 24th!
And don't forget, present a non-winning DC lottery ticket and get $1 off adult admission!

MINI display...
Two years ago, all MINI's were open... I don't believe there was any type of owners lounge. I didn't make it last year. The staff present in the booth for the hour or so I was there knew absolutely NOTHING about the cars. Other times of day or last year might have been different though.
I think it's much like the boat shows, some cars will be locked the entire show. But some of those might be unlocked on quieter weekdays, and locked in the busy evenings and weekends when it's mobbed and the crowd is a bit bigger and more kids and such.
When I went to the show two years ago I was about ready to buy the MINI. The only part that I wasn't head over heels for was the styling. I liked it but wasn't CRAZY about it. But I was glad I went as that was the first time I saw the aero kit in person. The aero kit look is what finally sold me on the looks too. So I really enjoyed the show.

I spoke with MINIUSA this morning - they have the DC show classified as a major metropolitan show and there is a very good chance the R56 will also be attending - if the Detroit show is any example, don't be surprised if a couple show up with the JCW bodywork kits.
The minis at the detroit auto show have the euro seats ...
I wonder which type of seats we will see at the DC Auto show?

krut, are these passes to go at a specific time as a group? The only night I can go is Wednesday. If they are meant for use as a group of DCMM members on a day other than Wednesday, I'll just go on my own. But if you're just giving them out to anyone or if a group of DCMM members goes Wednesday night, consider this my RSVP
I also heard there were discount tickets at Subway. Does anyone know if this is true? I'll go check sometime this afternoon if I don't hear from anyone before then...

same here. I'll RSVP for one ticket, but I'll relinquish it to someone else if I'm not able to go at the same time as the group. I'm leaning towards the 24th (Wednesday).
