Washington Auto Show 2007

Anybody interested in going?

It's from Jan 24-28 (the weekend being the 27th and 28th)... since the 'Bat 'n Betty Bye-Bye Bash is on the 27th at 6 pm, I'm wondering which day might be better - the 27th during the day and before the party? or the 28th on the last day of the convention?

I am definitely interested in going... I'm also hoping that with some sekrutary connections, we'll get some special treatment.

I'll work on the SeKRUTary treatment - I'm allowed a few free tickets and I will check out the cars as they move onto the floor - not sure if I can get a whole contingent of MINI owners in for free.

I usually go every year. Last year was when I fell in love with the checkmate.

We went last year, and had a good time. Don't know if we will be able to go this year tho, seeing as how I am hosting that Baby Bat/Buh-Bye party! May have some cleaning/cooking to do!

Yeah, I'm thinking the 28th might be the best day to go, then we won't be in a rush to get in or out before the party on the 27th.

Annual Washington Auto Show - at the DC Convention Center at 801 Mt. Vernon Pl, NW Washington, DC - accessible via metro via the Green Line and the Mt. Vernon Sq./Convention Center stop.

Cost is $10.00 for each adult and $5.00 for each child. A limited amount of tickets will be available via SeKRUTary Collins.
Hello All,

(First DCMM Post)
We're thinking of buying our first MINI. Will the 2007 models be there? If yes, how do we order tickets?

Thanks!

Auto Show Tix

I will have a VERY limited amount of FREE tickets for DCMM members - I however do not know the amount I will be granted. Until I have firm numbers of what I am being granted - I can't promise any tickets to anyone. That said, they're not that expensive and can be purchased at http://www.washingtonautoshow.com - click on the e-ticket link.

I would like to go as a unified group Saturday is going to be a MOB scene with everyone there - I wouldn't recommend it - Wed the 24th or Thurs the 25th in the evening perhaps before it gets crazy?

And the R56 (2007 MINI) will be there from what I was told by MINIUSA.

Thanks for the reply & the link krut. Are show visitors allowed to sit in the cars? Thanks again!

I would assume the '07 line will be represented. I love to assume.

There are often some cars that you can sit in and some you can't. i.e. there was only one Saturn SKY and one AURA last year and they were no-sitters. However, there were several VUEs and IONs open for exploration. I don't remember if any of the minis were locked. I was totally absorbed in the checkmate MCS on display. I left my fingerprints all over that thing, inside and out. Check out the comments on this picture

I'd like to try for the 24th or 25th. I'd be interested in free club tickets, but I don't have a problem buying my own. Maybe the folks who get free tickets should be expected to perform some tasks like handing out club flyers or taking pictures.

Last year a small group of us went and it was fun. We hung around the mini booth a lot and think we sold a few minis ourselves

I am game to go whenever. I would love a free ticket if available, though I can pay.

I was trying to be nice.

what's it called when you uni-quote somebody who just multi-quoted and all the multi-quotes get merged?

Quotemerging?

Seriously though, you just discovered my "trick" to reduce the amount of space between quoted text and text I type. You don't leave ANY spaces or carriage returns before or after the quotes. But when you quoted my post, it took out the quotes (of course) and as a result, it doesn't show any spaces between the sections of text that I typed.

Anyhoo....

I thought of a fun game to play at the autoshow. Let's all ask each of the mini reps if the 07 MCS's hood scoop is "functional" or not and see how many "yes"s we get.

See This thread

I'd love to go! The 24th is the only day I'd prob. have issues attending. 25th would work great cause I believe the weekend will prob. be busy.

I think most folks will have to work, hence the Sunday suggestion.
