I count 4 or 5 people that responded on Wednesday night. I'm not yet sure whether we'll go tomorrow night or not.

I am doing a team building event with my co-workers tomorrow so I will be at the show Wednesday during the day. We have been doing this for the past few years...we take the day and enjoy the Autoshow.

I hope the Dodge Challenger is in attendance, wanna see the interior of the new mini in person, the 600 horse Viper would be cool to see as well. I will have my camera in tow and trust me I will not be taking pictures of any glorified Yota camrys!

FYI, there is a discount coupon from the Washingtonpost for $4 off good for Wednesday only. Here is the link:

Also for Thursday I heard there is a coupon from Subway that you can get $4 off with...

Just got back from the show. Awesome.
'07 MINI's got quite a few surprise features.

Doh! I'm an idiot.

OK. I understimated how involved my dental appointment would be. I can eat, use a straw, talk or feel half of my face for a few hours. I'll try to go to the show on Saturday or Sunday, I guess.

Very impressed with the build quality of the interior....the seats are much better than the O6's, speedo is HUGE, the aero kit is a must for me....I will keep a close eye on first year reliability. Interested to see what can be done with the new engine.

There was a certain M5 that I also fell in love with.....

It was nice to be at the show this morning. There were very few people there and it was easy to get around.

The new MINI is very nice. I want one. I like the tilting back glass on the sunroof. I didn't find out if you can open the front all the way with the back tilted though. I like the new interior a lot. I would probably get the nav though. Some of the little switches down by the cup holders seem a little flimsy though. You can tilt the rear seats forward slightly so they are straight up and down instead of being angled back.

I talked to Ahmed from MoS who was my MA. He told me that they are doing service 24 hours a day now to keep up with demand.

The new Volvo C30 is also very cool.

Loved the new MINI - wish they had re-done the convertible...

but a Z4 M coupe or a 335i could be a nice upgrade from the MINI ....

Still a proud owner of these Two Little Ones

Next year Marina, next year. New model, with out the 1st model year woes (because it will have the same stuff under the bonnet as the 07 hard tops.)

Nope... the new convertible will be a 2009 model, not 2008. It's quite common for convertible updates to lag behind the hardtops, in many brands... and the BMW Group is no exception! Think about it - the convertible came out 4 years into MINI production. It's only had 2 years of release... so it's understandable that MINI wants to get 2 more years out of it before updating it.

I got a chance to play with the roof on Saturday when they rolled the car onto to the floor during booth setup - the dual popup feature is cool - I noted when you open the front roof all the way the rear roof does close.

I agree - I actually went through late last night and looked at it - the Eurospec car they had on their was a funky Euro interior cloth (IKEA) material that I sort of liked and the whole cabin had a very simple functional chic to it. I'd buy one if I had space in my parking slot next to my 07 MCS.

i love the M coupes! both the z3 one and the z4 one. I still have to test drive the new one. I'm in love with the old one though. They are hard to get and expensive as they are pretty much turning into collector's cars for the last two model years.

the new 335i is being said that it's FASTER than the current m3! I think it will be highly tunable because of the turbos and the same would go to the new MINI i believe.

I know for sure though, I will be keeping my Sylvia. Who knows if I get an additional MINI or not. I think the next car would definately prolly be an M coupe though.

Oh and i'll be at the show either sat or sun. I will let you guys know when i find out.

Yep! BMW is particularly notorious for this, for example, the badges on BMW's usually relate to the engine size - a 328i has a 2.8 Litre engine and the 323i had a 2.3 Litre. However, in '98 & '99, they changed the engine sizes but didn't bother to change the badge, so for a while 323's had a 2.5 Litre and the 328 had a 3.0 Litre. They finally got around to changing the badges to 325 and 330 in 2000 I think. Makes for confusing auto shopping!

Not only that but the 335 doesn't have a 3.5 liter engine. It's only a 3.0 liter engine, but the turbos seem to make it behave more like a 3.5.

Oh darn! I'd been so busy these past few weeks I haven't had a chance to hop onto NAM and now that I get on here to see the latest convention news I see that the free tickets have come and then have gone. :( Oh well...

I'm still planning on going on Sunday; going with a few other friends, but we haven't planned a time yet. I don't think we'd be active enough to make it there at 10 AM, though! Who's still planning for Sunday?

I did not really care for the Volvo C30....was a little too plain and to me it lacted a little pizazz. Next years M3 will be SMOKN"...check it out at www.autoweek.com They are going to wedge a nice V8 in there - they are just removing 2 cylinders from the engine that is in the M5.

Strange - I heard a while ago that the new V8 M3 would actually be called the M4... (and the M3 would remain V6) and that it wouldn't be the M5 V10 engine minus two cylinders, but instead, the "old" M5 V8 engine.

My information was from a couple of years ago though, and just from another car enthusiast, so it is by NO means reliable. Just curious!
