FEELER: Day/Overnight/Weekend Ski Trip

Hey all, I was wondering if you would like to do a ski trip. I don't ski/snowboard, so I could set it up for everyone. Just wondering.

Minis taking over a group of cabins... Like a Mini Fontana in the mountains.

That'd be cool. Depending on price and accomodations, I'd be interested in going and taking some snowboarding lessons before B and I leave for Guam (95% chance) in the spring.

If we do this, I am thinking Jan. There is not much going on in that month (holidays that is) and it could be good for new members. I have never driven a MINI in the snow, so I was thinking of perhaps a bus or something. I know Wagnbat has a truck and I am sure some other members have SUV's or something like that. Perhaps others can chime in and let me know if MINIs are good in those type of conditions.

Don't worry, Jay... with those snow tires, you will NOT have a problem, unless you have to plow through 2 feet of it, or something.

B could come and just hang out @ the clubhouse (yea, I don't ski and don't know what the heck that palce is called where everyone hangs out)

I think I will go just to hang out and laugh at you all falling down the mountain.

Deep Creek MD is a popular resort for these types of winter activities I hear... I'm sure they ensure roads into and out of the resort are clear to insure least impact on their customer base.

As for snow, I was rather impressed with how my Mini handled during what little snow we did get last year. Time to put my S-lites and all-season runflats back on just in case tho.

If you want to do something in Jan at Deep Creek, book now before the season really starts.
With snow tires, my car does well in the snow but there's always the Subaru for the really deep stuff.
I'm good at hanging out and laughing at folks flailing their way down the slopes I skiied a lot as a kid, but can't anymore due to a bad knee. I can keep B company...
