[Sat, Nov 11th @ 7-7:30ish] Monthly Club Dinner

Some of you suggested that we try to get the monthly dinners back in the lineup. I want to know if this is what others would like. If monthly is to often, we could do like do like one every other month or one every quarter. Please let me know. Thanks all.

Ya know, instead of reading and replying on NAM about this, you could probably just call him over and tell him!!

Anyhow, I may have other plans that Saturday, but we'll see!

Very good idea....And I think you should have the dinners at various places.

Once a month doesnt sound too bad....Im sure the club members would attend if possible.

I'm interested in monthly dinners, but unable to attend this one as I'll be out of the country.

Haven't you seen the other thread with a pic of them each on a different laptop?

I'm up for this! So the 18th would be a Bfast (At a dealer) and a dinner

LOL guys, but what I was doing was putting my support in for this. Yes I knew about it before he posted! We can change the date as well. But we figured with Thanksgiving out of question, there wasnt much time to do it. But like I said, this is a feeler, so we can always change the date!

Hmmm. I picked the 18th because Stacey has off and it is a week before Thanksgiving. If anyone thinks that having a Breakfast and dinner on the same day is a problem, we could either do it on the 17th or Dec 2nd. Also, it doesn't have to be at HM, it could be more in the VA area.

Edit: We need to TALK more

We'd probably be able to participate most months.

Loved Hunan Manor. But count us among those who would prefer to go to a different place each month. You know... variety being the spice of life, and all.

Good idea, Club Events Coordinators !

Ok, I need to clarify. I am SUGGESTING HM for this month. It doesn't have to be HM and it also doesn't have to be this month.

What I am trying to do is start the "Monthly Dinner" that this club did in the past, if most members think that it is to often, than perhaps every other month, or even every quarter.

I don't want to go to HM for every "Dinner", that is just to much Chinese food . I would rather go to a different place every time. What I think we should do is find place in the tri-state area like one in VA near DC, one in DC, one in PG County MD, one in Howard County MD, and so on.

I just want ideas and to see if this is what the club would like to do.

Glad to see the old "Meet once a month" is back in gear !!

I am not sure if I can make Nov. 18th as is close to Thanksgiving w/ my mom in US (although she hasn't make up her schedule).

If you guys want to consider Annapolis and WDC for future events I can help with a couple of Italian restaurants ....

I too would love to see the MINI Monthly Dinner Nights come back. They have been very helpful in the past through the winter months when we sometimes cannot have driving events to keep everyone in touch with each other and give new members a chance to come out and meet the group.

Chinese or anything else you want would be fine.

Greetings from Buffalo Wyoming!

To END all confusion....I would LOVE to have restaruants that we haven't tried...of course, it has to be within everyone's price range....no 5 star places since there is NO way I can afford that! But a good place that you like to eat in your home town or near where you live and that can handle maybe 20 people or so. I even have two that are right next to my new condo that I would love to have everyone up to!
But November may be out. I know that what we thought was close to Thanksgiving and probably isn't possible. Jay was, as the title of the thread says, putting a feeler out to see if there would be interest!
Sorry I confus-ed everyone! Didn't mean too!!

A once a month dinner sounds great to us. That's actually probably easier for us to get to compared to some of the other events, at least till the kids get a little older.

I think monthly dinners sound great. Being as we are DC Metro Minis, emphasis on DC, it would be nice to have the dinners in or close to DC.

The reason we need to have different locations is based geographically on the membership. We have members all over the area and can't have the dinners just in DC. That is why we have the breakfasts at different dealerships. We will DEFFINATELY have dinners in DC though.

I understand that DCMM encompasses more than just DC folks however, besides the 4th of July Parade, I don't recall any events taking place in or near DC. I understand there are driving events and obviously those can't take place in DC with the traffic. I just think it would be nice to keep some events more centrally located.

I totally understand. I really don't know DC and the only thing that I can think of doing in DC is either eat or do the tourist thing. If anyone has any ideas, please post them.

So, since the b'fast is @ Towson on the 18th, should we do a dinner in that area? Stacey can do either the 18th or 17th. If you do it on the 17th, we can go anywhere. What do you all think?

Last time I checked dinner involves eating ... heehee! About a month ago we had dinner at The Ugly Mug and we had a group of 20.
