Buca is awesome for ordering tons of food that is easy to share! I will call and ask about parking today.

Which wouldn't be a bad idea either, since parking is free on the weekends at metro stations.
So, here it is, we are shooting for the 18th. We can go early to beat the dinner rush in DC, but with that many people, we will probably need reservations.... NEVER MIND that thought! But what I do need is a good suggestion for a place to eat!
Nothing to out there, something that a large group of people would enjoy that offers at least veggie/chicken/beef of some sort. Help please!!!
I had started looking at Georgetown places several years ago. PapaRazi could handle a group, as could Pizza Paradiso. You will need to set up reservations and possibily a limited choice menu. Most restaurants will have a problem with 25-35 people ordering off the menu and finding seating together unless you warn them in advance.

As for parking, lots in Georgetown tend to go to $5 - 7 after 5:30 pm flat for parking. Or, we could park in Rossyln - sometimes cheaper and easier - and take the blue bus over to Georgetown.

There is a good Italian Restaurant in Capitol Hill - Barracks Row - some of you were there for the Ugly Mug get together a month or so ago.

I know the owners well as we organized a couple of large events there and we are regular customers . We can have our own room and based on the price we customize our own menu. Free street parking but the Metro (Blue/Orange Line) Eastern Market stop is one block from the restaurant. After dinner we could go for a drink to the pianobar next door or the Martini Lounge across the street.

Let me know if I can be of any help

You all tell me what you want. The 11th or the 18th? I don't care which day. I see that there are some other things happening on the 18th that people are interested in, so maybe the 11th is better? Post it here, and make a decision of where you want to go!

I'm down for either day. But would prefer the 11th so you all can embarass the heck of me since my Bday is the 12th

Yah we need a decision

Like I said, there isn't a problem switching the dates. But I will not be able to attend on the 11th, alas that is the weekend i work. So someone else will have to schedule the dinner, and the menu.

I just spoke with the Buca Restaurant folks. Parking is $7 @ the restaurants Valet. Parking at a nearby garage is $8.

I am looking into what Metro stop maybe nearby.

I think there are 2 there, but it is 2 blocks north on Conn. Ave. just have to follow the building numbers.
Can't figure out how to do a poll, but like i said I won't mind changing the date. There will be plenty of other times I can see you make a fool out of yourself drinking! LOL

Polls are a provision only given to mods and admins. I don't know if they gave you that or not.

Oh..and its been proven I don't have to be drinking to make a fool of myself

Fogo de Chao at 11th and F is a great spot for a group dinner as well. Although pricey at $50/head, the nature of a churrascarria lends well to a group - it's like a big family meal and the food is as good as any place I've been in the world (and that's not thrown out there lightly...I've been to some excellent restaurants).

We did a group of 28 this past Sat night and the mgmt was more than happy to assist in planning. Valet parking = $6 and that's less than half the adjacent parking garages.

Other than that, Emilio's in Sterling is the best gourmet pizza in the area. A small place and kind of hard to get to, but worth the trip

Lets just make it the 11th. Now you all just need to figure out where unless you are going to Dupont Circle. Like stated previously, we will not be able to attend. Have fun

Thanks for all the suggestions! These places will be filed away and we can check out many of them!
Our first dinner will be on Saturday, Nov. 11th. The reservation will be made for between 7-7:30pm. It is located 2 blocks north of the Dupont Circle metro station on Conn. Ave.It has parking as well $7 for valet, or $8 for the garage near it. Metro is a lot cheaper and parking is free at metro stations on the weekend. Buca di Bepo
