No English Leather

....But at the suggestion of Wagnbat, I am ordering some of the seat covers (Oake Wet sp?) he has but in red and black. I am trying to find someone to stitch in a red dragon. Anyone have any ideas?

Wet Okole (http://wetokole.net)

Graphics:

They do custom graphics too, but there's a couple of dragons on Misc Set 6 from their gallery:

I can't say how much I love my Wet Okole seat covers. I've had them on for nearly a year and they still look as good as the day I put them on (no sagging or looseness, etc). In the winter, I could even feel my seat heaters through the seat covers, which was surprising since the covers are relatively thick. Most people don't even think I *have* seat covers - they think that is normal MINI interior, that's how well made they are.

If Wet Okole doesn't have the design you want, try an embroidery shop. Your local Jo-Anns or Michael's craft shops may be able to point you in the right direction. Since the covers are very padded, I'm not sure how well it will work, and it will probably be expensive... but I don't see having to replace my seat covers for the life of my MINI, so it would probably be worth it to me to spend extra to get exactly what I wanted.

Hope this helps!

Indeed Loxy... People are always shocked when I tell them they are just seat covers... I guess because of my logos, people assume they are wholly custom seats. The fit & feel are excellent.

Yep, and I'll giggle every time you sit on them with shorts in the summer and burn your legs. And I'll keep that in mind when you have to peel yourself off of them to get out of the car... And I'll grin when my trade-in value goes up when I take the seat covers off to reveal pristine condition "faux" leather (or whatever the heck the standard leather seats are). And I'll have less spikes to my blood pressure when a passenger spills a drink on my seats, or sits down with jeans or pants that have buttons on them that could scratch my seats...

But seriously, English Leather IS nice, I have to admit that!

Hmm red and black Wet Okoles eh? Here's a preview for ya. My back ones were getting trashed with brake dust. I finally put on ceramic pads and two weeks since I washed car (maybe a record) the wheels are cleaner than the car!

Install Of Covers

How hard is the seat cover install? Is it something the novice can do own their own? They looked so cool I forgot to think about this.

Easy. The one trick is to raise the front seats if you have the sports... Much easier to run the straps under the side trim...

Ya, the wet okole install is pretty simple. They're just covers afterall, with some straps to hold them in place under the seat.

i had those seat covers on my rx7 vert. the fit and finish was very very very good on them, i just ended up not liking them too much because they raised the driving position just enought to make it uncomfortable for me. i am a pretty tall guy tho. my seats also didnt have adjustability up or down. ended up replacing them with turbo 2 stock seats that i had send from california.
