[Sun, July 2] Going to Union Jacks.....

Anyone what to come out and join me?

For those that have never been, Here is the website. It is a British style pub in Bethesda, MD. On Sundays there is free parking in the parking garage nearby, and free pool!

I'm planning to go this Sunday, the 2nd of July. Ive got a craving for some shepherds pie and some brew. Id like to get some people to join me in a few games of pool also.

I should be there sometime after 7pm. Look for me at a table or at the bar. Hope to see some friendly faces out there.

so far...
ssallykat, that would be me

I'll probably try and make it as I've still never been there. I have a whole lot of nothing usually happening on the weekends anyway.

Darn, I can't make it this time! For future reference, how do you rate their shepherds pie? Do they also have Corned Beef and Cabbage?

Their shepherd's pie is very good - I've had it there a couple of times, I think... and I'm a huge fan of shepherd's pie. I don't think they have corned beef & cabbage though... I just checked their online menu for you, and it wasn't listed. Maybe they'd make it on request?

Union Jack's is a great place - the best part? Since it's in Montgomery County, it's smoke-free! It's so great to eat, drink, shoot pool & play darts without dealing with the smoke, or having stinky clothes when you leave. Smokers can of course step out onto the sidewalk to get their fix though.

Cant wait to seee everyone later. Its off to work I go til then.

If you havent replied to this thread and decide you want to come on out, please do so! This is a very casual gathering.

For those who havent been there before, the parking garage we usually use is just past the pub on the same side of the street.
And we all park on the very top level. (makes for good photo ops)

Thanks to everyone who came out to Union Jacks. My craving for shepherds pie has been satisfied, for now!

It was fun to get the pool cue out of the boot too!

My hope is that this will become a regular occurance. If anyone knows of other Brithish pubs in the Metro area, prefably with plenty of parking and pool tables, let us know.
