If I receive enough interest I will set up an evite to get an exact number. Please let me know if you are interested.

Warm wishes,

Just to be clear... even though you and some lady friends are going so far, this is an event for both sexes, right?

EDIT: I guess it must be, since you opened with "Ladies and Gentlemen". If so, I'm interested... it will be a nice warm-up before the MTTS stop in early September.

If we are going to do this, we should do it big and invite River City MINIs, Hampton Roads Club MINI, folks from NC (Tar Heel I think) who expressed interest in coming up before and possibly the folks from NE MINI.

Sounds good to me. How do I go about inviting them? Should I go ahead and set up an evite for a more accurate count? It seems to be the most efficient manner. Let me know!

If you contact King's Dominion, and say there's a large Mini group coming to support the new coaster, they may set up some events and/or discounts for us.

I am not sure how evites work. Have you contacted Big Dave at all to help? He could manage RSVP through the events@dcmetrominis.org address.

We need a meeting place and time. We should have two -- a place in the DC Metro area where people can meet to drive together and a place at Kings Dominion where people coming from other locations or who don't want to drive as a group can meet up with us.

If could definitely use some help with this one. Evite will work great for people to RSVP; I will work on that today. However I am not all that familiar with Kings Dominon, I have never been, so I wouldn't know where to have people meet up in the parking lot. Any ideas?

I have a call into Kings Dominion right now to get some information. Once I receive the information from them I will set up the evite.

Sorry for being MIA; I was in Boston for the 4th of July. Unfortunately still no word from Kings Dominion. If anyone has a connection there please let me know! As it stands it looks as though it should be a great group of people. I realize there is a sponsored event at Kings Dominion a month after our visit however that is Labor Day weekend and I am sure KD will be PACKED!

We had previously discussed having a meet up spot so we can caravan to Kings Dominion. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I live in Annandale, VA, and very very close to 495. From there it's a short distance to the Springfield interchange and 95 South. Everyone will be welcome to meet at my place, and those who don't want to drive could easily gather there for a carpool. The nice thing is that we don't have assigned parking, so there would be no problems with people parking there for the day. Parking restrictions are only in effect overnight (pass in window required), so we'd all be back well in time for that.

I'm in once I find out ab out my duty schedule (and the ship's for that matter!); It looks like (as of 4:23pm today) that I won't be here for MTTS, and this will be a lot of fun....

To save money you can order your tickets on-line. The links are posted on the evite.

I am up for meeting in Annandale. Any objections?

If you all go as a group (15 or more people) tickets will cost everyone $31.99.

If you all go as a larger group (25 or more people) you all would qualify for ticket and picnic (all you can eat hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and various salads) which would cost everyone $39.00. The only catch with this is that you have to let KD know 3 weeks in advance if you would like to sign up for the picnic.

For every 25 tickets purchased as a group you will receive one free ticket. (Makes for a good on the spot raffle ).

I used to plan this exact trip for our state and school's FBLA all through high school. The picnic is pretty good and they have it at the onsite pavilion but I can't remember if it's 1 hour or 2 hours but we just wanted to make sure the kids were fed so we only took the shortest amount of time.

Do you have a contact at KD's? So far I have been unable to get hold of anyone. Also, do you have to pay up front?

Yes, I do have a contact but only for large groups greater than 75 because you don't go through the normal ticket purchase process. Money does have to be paid up front and can be done online or called in.

Oh and earlier I forgot $28.99 is the military discounted price but each military ID only can be used for entrance of 6 people (as of 2 years ago)

Me and Jonathan will be there! One of my friends from work has already gone on the ride, and she says they have lots of MINI trinkets and such for the ride. I'll have to bring my charge card, since our MINI, Frankie, looks just like the red one!
