The misses is unable to attend, and therefore so am I. :( She said I can and should go, but I don't think I could have as much fun knowing I've left her behind.

Funny, I was sitting at the tower from around 11 until around noon. Ran into MorlockX earlier. They didn't stick around for Edge and Aysa to show up.

Time to get to park: 3:15
Time to get home: 2:15
funny how much less time it takes when there isn't tons of stupid traffic.

Asya/xcaligali, thanks for organizing that - I had a great time, and it was nice to get to know you and some of your other friends too. I hope you are able to come to some actual DCMM events soon, so you can get to know more of us.

That was strange as is mentioned Crystal and I were there and finally left to go ride the coaster about 20 after as we were limited for time. Sorry we missed the rest of you who showed up. It's a shame a lot more people didn't take advantage of the excellent weather and join us!

I think my motorist's tan will soon be a rollercoasterist's sunburn, though.

I had a blast! Thanks to Asya for putting this together!

Hi Guys, thanks for coming out yesterday. I had a blast! Much like miniglenn, I too got sunburned. Sorry for chickening out on the first coaster. Thanks for assisting my escape Edge ... heehee!

The Italian Job was fun; my cup of tea. Not enough thrills for some but it met my requirements.

Sorry we missed some of you at the Eiffel Tower. Many of us were stuck in traffic. Hopefully we will see some of you at the Tubing the Potomac!

Have a fabulous day!
Asya

I found out about the Flight of Fear ride. It seems when the parks (all the Paramount ones) were recently bought out (by the company that owns Cedar Point) they closed down the Flight of Fear. That just happened with the 2006 season too.

Volcano was also probably also only running one train as there was a malfunction on June 24th. So they might have been playing it safe and only running one train at a time.

Nice to see that you got in the blue car, Edge! Sorry there wasn't a BRG CmdrVimes! How long did you have to wait for that car!

My wife and I got to the park at around 11:30. Saw some of you guys with Mini gear on, don't know any names and faces, as we were getting on different rides and you were getting off. We had a good time though. The only ride that had me screaming like a little school girl was the Drop Zone .

According to the coaster geek forums that I frequent, Flight of Fear was down due to problem on Batman & Robin: The Chiller at Six Flags Great Adventure. That coaster came to a screeching halt towards the beginning of the season. No injuries that I can recall, but they found a design flaw on the train that affects all coasters of that type, i.e., Flight of Fear. So they're waiting on a custom part to be manufactured and sent over before they re-open the ride. The ride might also have to be re-certified for operation.

Good to hear that volcano has reopened! That's one of my favorites. The other train is probably still being worked on after its mishap.

Also good to hear that everyone had fun! Wish I was there!

-Paul!
