Breakfast June 17th?

Are we having one this month with all the events going on? Also if so are we @ MINI of Sterling or Tate this month?

If this has been covered in a previous thread then please ignore.

Thanks.

Yeah, we were also supposed to have a breakfast at Sterling last month but that didn't happen. Not sure what's going on with those. Dave, care to chime in?

That would make more sense as later in that day just down the road is the go karting event.

so the suggestion is to go to MoS for breakfast, go home, then come back to MoS (area) in the evening for go-karting? Just put me on a merry go round!

I don't think we need to go to Tate for Breakfast ever again.

Actually I wasn't thinking of driving back home from sterling. There's probably plenty of things to do in the area to kill time before the go karting.

Why not make it a late lunch, pre-get together before pre-go karting dinner? Perhaps push it back a few hours, I can always eat eaffles

You could always head to that Air & Space Smithsonian extension at the Dulles Airport! I always meant to set something up out there.

I'm just curious... did something happen there at the last breakfast that I missed? I wasn't there anyway, but I don't recall hearing any horror stories to suggest they never be attended for breakfast "ever again".

I was actuallly just thinking that. I haven't been there either and I heard they openned a space exploration wing or something recently.

I am having a breakfast on the 17th. If no-one wants to come because of the go-kart event, well that's more crumbcake for me and the sales staff.

I understand not wanting to have anything to do with Tate, but if we move the breakfasts to Towson, who'd do them? Not me....part of the reason I agreed to do the Tate breakfasts, is because it's so close to me.
The MOS breakfast didn't happen last month, because there's no one person who's agreed to take responsibility for them...is there? If we're going to change venues, someone has to make a firm committment to do the buying and setting up. It doesn't necessarily need to be Dave....there are lots of members near MOS. I don't know the member concentration near Towson
I know the feelings of animosity towards Tate...believe me, I know. However, I view the breakfasts as an opportunity to recruit new members. I always make it a point to introduce myself to new buyers and invite them to check out the club. I ended up speaking to an owner yesterday,(I was at Tate for something minor) and invited her and her family to breakfast on the 17th.
So, before we blow off Tate...let's think things through, please. I think it should be a decision made by the board on whether we decide to dump Tate. It ain't my decision....

And I, for one, think you do that extremely well, a true ambassodor of MINI friendship/culture. You are to be congratulated

DCMM is fine... And Tate hasn't really done anything "negative" at the Breakfasts themselves... I don't know how well 'official' relations between DCMM and Tate are (such as last year they made an MA go to our 4th of July parade, which was nice)... But service continues to be fairly low, and they're a fairly small dealership compared to Sterling & Towson...

I think we'd be better off switching between Towson & Sterling, than Tate & Sterling... That just my opinion tho.

One gripe I'll throw in though... I was asking about getting a convertible for Betty a few weeks ago, and was handed off to four people when I landed the 'new girl' for my salesman. When I go to a dealership I frequent, I expect the people there to be receptive, especially when I'm inquiring about buying a product they're selling. I don't like being handed off. I walked out, and havn't been back since. Scott wasn't there, and called to apologize on behalf of everyone else... But he wasn't there, and therefore isn't at fault. Meh.

Will,

Scott felt very badly about your situation. I know that for fact. As far as Tate's relationship w/ DCMM, as I said before, they are a mediocre dealership .. you cannot squeeze blood from a turnip... they are cheap but I got always something out of Rick (it must be my smile ;}) Prizes for our last few runs came from TATE- and he will be present with a Pepper white, I hope - at the 4th of July Parade in Annapolis and will contribuite something.. meanwhile the breakfast is an opportunity for us to meet, eat, talk and catch up w/ each other .. and I don't have to drive to NOVA ...

I think in an ideal world, we would rotate the breakfasts between all three local dealerships. It is time for us to do some outreach and recruiting in the Towson area too. I am sure they would be happy to have us and I would be willing to call them and ask about it.

However, we will need to find a member close to Towson willing once every three months to set it up and stay with it until the breakfast is over. We also apparently need to find someone willing to do the same thing for Sterling. Katie has Tate covered.

Any volunteers?

I might be able to work something out, if you let me know the details of what exactly it would entail I could give you a more definite answer.
