Made it home. Had some wicked rain but no good place to pull off on 97 or I would have. I wish I had gone across 29 and 32 back to 295. It took forever going down 97 but that's what I get for listening to a GPS, plus I didn't want to take Scavenger too far outta his way.

It let up once on the beltway, and I just decided to go around the 'wrong side' to the GW parkway by the American Legion. That was MUCH more lightly traveled.

Thanks all that was fun!

The rain was incredible! The funny thing was when I got home it had just started raining here, but once it hit, IT HIT!! Hours of very hard rain.... Still seeing lightning flash and hearing thunder.

I had a good time hanging out with you guys!

I think the rain finally stopped around 5AM We have a overflow area that has trees and such and the water was up to the first set of branches It was fun though. Imagine what it would have looked like through the tow hook cam.

The lighting could have been a little better, but not too sunny. And we could have done without the sprinkles of rain...had to edit out a lot of pictures due to rain drops on the lens. A ladder would be great for your shots, since the main emphasis is definately your graphics!!

And maybe next time you can bring the doggies!

When I was driving home the other night I took 70 as I wasn't about to get caught in some nasty backroads flooding situations. When I was driving along there was a bolt of lightning that looked like it struck the road maybe 100 feet in front of me (there were quite alot of other cars around too). I think that scared a good chunk of people driving as speeds suddenly dropped about 10mph. I don't think it really struck that close, but it sure seemed that way.
