If I have to get up at 0600 to make it at 0800 for a run start and then get to spend the entire day there, wouldn't it be better? I just was questioning the late timing. I honestly thought we were going to be leaving earlier in the day, since for us, from our home, it will be about a 3 hour drive (according to all the online maps) one way. Jay just doesn't think that is enough time to spend at the winery. But I get your point, it is about the people.

A lot of the MD people are going to have to pass through my area to get to the meeting point. So, if anyone wants to meet up, There's 3 main shopping/eating places along 95 South...

1. Springfield Mall area
2. Potomac Mills Mall
3. Central Park

P.S. I just reviewed the route on Google Earth, it looks good, twisties look nice! Maybe we can backtrack through the twisties on the way home??

For those of you familiar with my backyard (Fredericksburg) don't forget Carls Ice Cream in downtown Fred. You simply will not find better ice cream anywhere.

Well, you're in luck!! The Park & Ride lot has 1052 parking spaces!!

As for food, Perkins works for us. Maybe we should plan to get there at least an hour early so we can sit and eat and still depart on time.

EDIT: Important & hopefully helpful FYI: Travelling Southbound on I-95 on Saturdays can often be very congested!! So, be sure an allow plenty of extra time to get to Fredericksburg!!

May not make the run

Sorry to report that due to time considerations and other things that came up, my wife and I may not make the run. In other words, don't wait on us at the start. It's still possible that we may meet you along the run or at the wiinery, but not sure.

Well, we had a fantastic time. Thank you very much to those who put the event together. This is definitely a place we need to go back to. They took super good care of us. We had a private tour and private tasting room. Tasted I think 14 very good wines. I brought four bottles back home. Lots of others were buying too. Too bad about getting stuck behind the SVU on the twisties, but a great event anyways!

Best part of the day - seeing James and Sherril's BIG SURPRISE!!!

You will have to find out at another event! What happens at Ingelside, stays at Ingelside!!!

I must say we too had a great time! Wish it just didn't take us so long to get down there! Darn 95!! 301 coming home was a breeze! Again, thanks for setting this up. A must return in my book, considering we bought a case of wine!!
Marina- Got you a really good Cab Sav Reserve, and a really yummie Sauv Blanc. I am SURE you will like both of them... You will have to join us next time because I know you will want to buy more! Excellent wines!

That was fun. Got some Cabernet Sauvignon, the Blue Crab Blanc, the October Harvest White, and the Sweet Virginia Rose.

And last but not least, a bottle of Key Lime Barbeque Sauce!? I have no idea what that'll be like but it was to odd to leave sitting on their shelf.

Thanks for a great run. I'm just sorry we could not get more PhillyMINI members to head down with us. The winery was great, one of the better ones we have been to. Thanks for inviting us down, next time we will have to drag more people down with us.

I want to add my "WELL DONE" to the organizer. We have been there before and always enjoy our time there. They have a great crew. We only bought a half case, but running out of wine is always a good excuse for a MINI-run. We sure enjoyed following the pack back to MD. Nice ride through the countryside. I think the couple on the yellow 2-wheeler were having a good time leading the pack. The SUV at the left turn on 218 should have had a MINI. They would have made the turn.

See you all the next time.

I'm glad everyone had a good time. I have posted the pictures I took at the event. They got lumped with my MOTD4 pictures by mistake.
