EVENT Co-ordinator has now got a GPS

G'day there,

Well I have just got my Garmin GPS and it is great as I can change the voice to an Aussie vioce... ahhhhh curb the home sickness. So I am retiring my iPOD (hand it over to the Big_Davoc Jr) as it can be a MP3 player too. I have used it a couple of times today and it worked like a charm.!!!

So no more getting lost for me....and I can now (hopefully after I work out how to add way points to it) lead the events....

The only prob is that I put the text language into spanish and I don't know spanish well for language ?? any idea for what I should look for ????

Mind you the aussie voice sounds good to me!!!!

What model did you get? We just got one too, A streetpilot c330. You can easily change the languge back to english, look in the menu and setup categories.
I may set mine to british speaking just to get that MINI feeling!

Congrats! I love my Nuvi. I just updated the software to version 3.30 from this site: UPDATE

I then found this site: VEHICLES
At the vehicles site you can change the little blue arrow into a car or motorcycle. The site basically gives you a few more choices than the ones that come with the upgrade. I was able to get a little red compact the looks a little like my MINI.

Let me know when you figure out the way points. I am going to go out now and test it before the HAIL gets here!! (Don't tell JAY!!!LOL )

too bad the nuvi 350 doesn't really do downloadable routes.
(that would make it ideal for some of the dcmm driving events)

that said, i've got a yellow compact acting as my pointer for my 350!!

(i highly recommend the kuda mount, makes for a very clean dash mount)

i'm not too keen on using the 350 as a MINI mp3 player since mine has
ground loop issues. (causes the aux input to disappear)

I played with a nuvi 350 at the local Best Buy for a while. I really liked it! I'd even consider dumping my CoPilot for it except for, as noted above, it doesn't do downloadable routes. If they do an upgrade and make it possible though, I'm there!
