I'll get my zip ties on Saturday too...didnt know there were any.

My idea wont work, so I am also going to try the heat and bend method.. it looked pretty slick. Are we going to fly the flags during the winery run? Do I need to bend my flag pole before then? In which direction?

New update

For those of you guys who don't have the S wing, we will have to think of somewhere else to put the flags. We came up on a rather large snafuu tonight trying to put the flag on Sallykat's car! She has a Cooper and has a different wing, and we didn't realize this. So we are going to have to do some extra modding... So we mod our cars, why not mod the heck out of our flags too!

James figured out where to put it. He stuck it on the top of the boot lid. You have to bend it forward slightly so than it doesn't rub the top. It is not very high, but it works.

Ok, for all those who own a MC... I have modded another flagpole and so far it seems to work. I took a dremel and cut the round lip off the clip on the base. I still need to work on heating the pole and bending it to the right angle. Once I get it just right and test it.. I will post a picture.

I have no idea when I will be able to meet up to pick up my flag. Is anyone able to bring it to Kings Dominion?

Ok, Stace handed out the second batch of flags at the Winery Run. So for those people going to KD, Edge will have your flags.
Remember, DO NOT fly them without either sewing them to the pole, or using the zip ties!! Stacey doesn't have extras!

And if you aren't going there, Stacey will keep them. Let her know when you can get them. I guess the next time would be for MTTS? Or another run beforehand, we will see.

All,

I now have the Flags and plan to bring them to this Saturday's "MINIs by the Bay 3" run. If you'd like to pick yours up, just find me.

Thanks Alan for getting the flags out in my absense! Ok, so I have seen that some more people are desiring flags. Well, as of right now, the first batch is SOLD! Sorry guys, but let me know who and how many people are interested in me ordering more....Now here comes the hard part. I am not going to order more unless I have enough payments and interest to cover the cost of ordering them! So that means it may be a little bit. But we shall see. So let me know if you want one.

Ok, so I will start another list. But just to let you know again, I'm not going to order till I have enough people to cover the cost for ordering. But here starts the next list.

Another idea for attaching flag to antenna

Take the stitching out of the seam and add eyelets to both the flap and the main body of the flag. To attach, fold the flap around the antenna and secure with plastic ties through the eyelets.

We also added a plastic flex cuff inside the material to make it rigid, which keeps the flag from bunching up on the antenna.

Tested to 70 mph and had no movement on the antenna.

Time will tell...

EDIT - check our gallery for a photo.

How about a picture of it mounted on the antenna? Before I ditch the plastic rod, I'd like to see that.

Wow, I'm very impressed with how you guys did it... the eyelets are a wonderful idea.

Unfortunately, I'm utterly hopeless when it comes to creative stuff like that. I wouldn't know how to begin, and I would almost certainly screw something up.

Well, Sue is the brains of the outfit. We got the eyelets at JoAnn Fabrics (couple of bucks w/a small punch included that you hit with a hammer to lock the eyelet together).

Put a hole in the fabric, put the fabric between the 2 eyelet pieces and whack it

Took about an hour to do and although it was pretty easy, I wouldn't want to do it for a living

CooperCops, great job I was hoping someone was going to think of something other mod for this. It is unfortuniate we couldn't find a way "out of the box" and just mount them without modding them.
