Does you MINI AC drips water .. INSIDE?

Yesterday during the Run - nice job Paul!- I ended up with wet feet.
My A/C - I think it's the A/C - start dripping inside the MINI ... on my toes.
It begun before we stop for the bathroom break... a few drops... the on the stretch before the restaurant I coudl feel water coming down everytime I turned...

Never happened with my '03 anyone else experienced something similar?
I left a message for Chris at TATE: let see when I get a call back.

Your AC would not work if it didn't drip water. . . completely normal!

edit: oops! dripping INSIDE the car did not register in my brain!

It should not drip inside at least not in the amount your talking about. There is a collector that lets the water drain outside. Sometimes the tube gets plugged with road grime and all the things that grow in condinsate lines then the collector plate will over flow to blow water through the vents. Take a knitting needle (long) with a very small bit of cotton on the end and run it up the line. Do not force it. If you have access to compressed you can blow the tube. Just dont be sitting under it or it will piddle all over you. The job is best done with the car in the air. Are you still under warrenty? MINI should take care of it for you.

Normal condensation from the evaporator inside the car. Dump tube may be clogged.. If you were doing lots of twisties with the AC on, then this would be normal as the water is sloshing around in the tray and would overflow depending on amount of quick turns..

I had a few drops of water drop on my feet during the run on Sunday. First time ever it has happened to me also. Noticed condensation on the right side driver's AC vent. My top was down and the temperature reading on my GPS hit 100+ a couple of times.

lastrega, what year is your car? My MINI tech just got done fixing a 2005 Cooper S because of AC condensation dripping in the car. This car didn't even have 2500 miles on it yet and he had to replace the body harness. It seems there was so much water in the car it shorted out the wiring. The WHOLE interior was out of this car as well as the front and rear bumper covers, it was not pretty. A brand new car basically gutted because the drain tube for the evaporator was pinched at the factory. I would not want my brand new car repaired so heavily.

I had the same thing happen on my '89 CRX when it was few months old. Turned out that one of the hoses (heater?) came loose. Might be worth checking.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My Little One is a Conv S 2005 with 7,800 miles... so pretty new.

It's interesting that your A/C condesation was shorting out the wires, my car one morning was completely dead. I took her in and they resetted the computer and adjusted the boot that was not closing well. More interesting is the fact that my tire sensor doesn't work. I got two flat tires and drove with a spare for 26 miles and the car did not sense the difference in the tires, moreover, on Sunday, after the MINI Run and the dripping experience, while driving home my tire sensor all the sudden lit up. I pulled over checked the tires and all seemed fine. A few miles later the sensor when dead again....

Something here doesn't make sense... This car has already spent 3 and half weeks (at 2K miles) in the shop because the rear window was shattered due to electric window defroster, another week to fix he boot that was causing the battery to die (this what I was told). The first time , becasue I was complening about a rattle that fixed a lose hose under the dash.. What...- INSERT PAUL! LICENSE PLATE HERE -
