It's my understanding that it will be the smaller, 1.1 mile Jefferson circuit.

Directions on how to get there are found at http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/

At the same web site, click on "3 tracks" to see what the Jefferson circuit looks like.

I also understand (from John Behe) that it is likely that the track gas pumps will be available; if so you can show up with a partial tank and top off with SUNOCO 100 racing fuel. John tells me that you can't believe how a Mini fed with 100 octane fuel runs

Inspection issues: my Little One will be going in for her 10K inspection at Tate on Sept 2nd. James' will have his car inspected the morning of.

Helmets: will use the ones available - wiping them before use with germ killer !!
I guess you changed you mind then, huh?
Last you were saying that you weren't going and there was quite a lot of emotion expressed.

Hmmm I might have to go to this event! I'm going to have to talk to my dad. Anyone have a link or something about information on the event. And does anyone know if there is like an age requirement. (18 - Older or something) Hopefully not. Cause I didn't know about it until today talking to Mark W.

Though we won't be in attendance, I have a once-worn small full-face RCi helmet (SA2000, purchased new last year) that anyone with a clean head is welcome to borrow. Stay lice-free!!! PM if you wanna borrow this bad boy.

And, yes, it's my understanding that it will be the Jefferson Circuit. It can be a real bear, especially the hairpin near the paddock (last or first, depending on which direction you run).

Will stock ECU's/software make use of it?

I'm guessing that it is 18 and up for insurance reasons. But I would call MINI of Towson and confirm that...

I just signed up today. So you all know Gina told me that there will not be a Sunday event because of lack of participation, so all were combined into the Saturday event. Just thought you would like to know. Is anyone staying in the area on Friday night?

Well that could be a little problem. I don't think either Michael or I can work our schedules to be there on a Saturday. I hope they call to let those of us signed up on Sunday know.

I signed up for Sunday. Wonder when they plan to tell me it is canceled? I will probably switch to Saturday if need be. I am surprised how little publicity they had.

Last year they used the Jefferson circuit and the skidpad. Helmets were required and provided. Gloves were not required. My 14YO stepson was welcome as a spectator and helper.

Still time to register

I just gave Gina my check this morning and Saturday is filling up, but there are still a ton of Sunday spots open. Give her a call on Monday as they are still accepting registrations. Also, be sure to get your inspection scheduled with Wayne or Dewayne in service. I am having mine done on 9/2 so the two week deadline is not all that strict.

Gina,

If Sunday has been canceled, I would like to switch to Saturday. I've already paid for Sunday and given you all my information via email, and could have been told about the cancelation the same way.

Thanks,

If you top off your fuel on the way in Winchester or Charles Town you will not need to refuel during the day. Gas is available on a limited basis on the main track and possibly the Shenandoah. Maintanence will generally open up the pumps as needed. Judging how poorly a MCS runs on +91 octane in the summer I can't see using anything more. We have been running much smoother using 89. And by now I think everyone knows helmets are required and are available for rental from ogracing.com.

Michael and Jennifer Oakes were also signed up for Sunday and would like to switch to Saturday. You should have our home phone on file as someone called for a credit card number to hold the slots on that number.

Thanks

Gina,

While we all greatly appreciate your input & feedback here on the DCMM forum, I just wanted to ask - would you mind turning off Caps Lock? Typing in ALL CAPS just makes it sound like you're shouting... not to mention that it's much harder to read!

Just a polite request.

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of hotels in Summit Point?

There are a number listed at 8 miles away, but they're not chains and so I was wondering if anyone has any first hand info...

Gina, is there a schedule available?
Is a spectator allowed?
