MINI-Annapolis-Margaritas (MAM)

per conversation on saturday, we are talking another MAM meeting at the Mexican Cafe next week wednesday(yeah, why wednesday instead of thursday, because there is a hope that there will be less people and we can get/hold a table longer)

the weather 10-days out looks good, but we can assume that if its torrential rains or what not, we will slide this a day.

----------------
the info for the uninitiated
--------------

place: Mexican Cafe
time: after 6. if you are the first to arrive, hold a big table if possible. if you cant make it till later, tell someone who is arriving earlier, and we will try and hang around.
warning: leave yourself 2 hours if you plan on having a margarita, they dont make these things weak, and you will need a couple hours to process the liquor.
date: july 27th
reason: there is never a reason to hold a MAM meeting, as per the MAM guidelines(printed on the Mexican Cafe bathroom wall), any person may call a MAM meeting for any reason. The only condition is that the weather be nice enough to sit on the porch. consumption of a margarita is stickly optional and is never mandatory.

MAM Guidelines as remembered, sorta

1. there is never a reason to hold a MAM meeting
2. any person may call a MAM meeting
3. weather is the only reason for cancellation
4. sitting outside is mandatory.
5. primary location is mexican cafe in annapolis, however, if another location with outside seating becomes available, the meeting can be moved.
6. in the event of guideline #5, MAM will be renamed appropiately, MAC(mini-annapolis-crabs), MAB(mini-annapolis-beer/boats), MAIC(mini-annapolis-ice-cream), MAEA(mini-annapolis-ego-alley), etc, etc, under no circumstances should MADR(mini-annapolis-dirt-roads) meetings be held.
7. first person to arrive holds a table. no planning beyond this should be required or expected and any complaints should be filed with the MAM co-chair.
8. MAM board consists of no one. this is the constant state and at anytime there is push for a board, it shall no longer be considered a MAM meeting.
9. any person arriving late and upon arriving get all ticked off because nobody waited should file a compliant with the MAM secretary.

....i think there are couple others, but it was all a little hazy.

So the 27th then? (which *I* consider to be next Wednesday, the 20th would be *this* Wednesday)

only 2 hrs to recover? how many margarita's do you have, hahah, I think it takes hours for me to process the margarita's I have there. that saying 1 tequila, 2 tequila 3 tequila floor holds true for their margaritas.. I think I may make it to this!

Why should rain cancel out such a joyous occasion?

BTW, I still have your radio, but you've not been to any events recently.

Good rules!! In reference to #6, Janelle (aka BigBadWlf) knows of a wonderful crab shack hidden away in Annapolis. I can't remember the name, but we went there, and the food was excellent!!

Oh, and since I'm in San Diego at the moment, I don't think that I'll be making it!

Are you coming back at the end of the week? The MAM night is on the 27th... and don't forget there is Yellow Hummer parked at the Margaritas place .. just for your enjoyment !!!

thats where we were suppose to have lunch last year during the annapolis drive, but cantlers was less than helpful. maybe a "navy" presence might change their mind........just need someone to show up as Admiral Cooper.

cantlers gets busy.......real busy, so if you plan on doing this, just forwarn people that they probably wont sit together and they might even have to wait......nice place to look at the river though. parking is a bit of an issue, but so long as the group is small enough it shouldnt be too bad....ie ~10 minis, 15 you are probably pushing it, and 20, well, better make it a lunch and get there early.

the road there is tight and twisty, and a little dangerous.

There's always the Cheshire Crab. It's not as convenient or as famous as Cantler's, but it has virtually unlimited parking. A boatel is right next to it, so there's about 3 acres of parking....if you don't mind parking under a boat that's up on a lift. It's on a creek, so the view's still nice.
They have tables outside as well is in a large screened in area. The tables are picnic style and can seat 6-8 apiece. Just an alternative to Cantler's, who do have a bit of an attitude it seems.

We could go inside the restaurant and hope for a table. Even though I know they don't have any large tables. Or should we shoot for another restaurant? If so I vote for Fuddruckers

I guess that's a possibility, but they don't serve margaritas at Fuddruckers. I could try to get there (mexican place) early to hold a table, like 5 PM. Does that sound like a plan?

I never eaten at Fuddruckers' but I got the idea it is a family/children restaurant... thus no Margaritas..
I like the idea of the Maragaritas and I don't do children ....

Katie what about the place where you and I went to lunch on the Banking Day, remember?
