Hey hey HEY hey hey... wait just a minute... Let's recap here:

Edge's DCMM attendance since buying his MINI on 03/01/05:

* MINI of Towson "Always open" event
* Jen's Spring Fling (brought a friend too)
* MOTD 2005 - should count for at least two
* Paul's Dinner & Drive-In (PLUS I brought 2 friends!)
* motherofmnipurl/LJ's Mini golf/art opening (how many others went to that, huh? HUH?)

So I've had the car 4 months and been to 5 events... not too bad, I think. Especially since for 3 weeks of those 4 months, I was in Australia.

Hey, I have the DVD to prove it! Maybe I oughta make some copies so I can increase my # of witnesses...

P.S. Oh, so you say you were kidding... riiiiight... that's what they all say. Kinda like the goodfellas... "You are a damned fool... and I don't mean that in a bad way... no disrespect..."

I never said I had attended the most... I just said it's "not too bad". Although I am curious to know who has the highest attendence so far... 8 in 5 weeks, I think you might have everyone beat - average of 1.6 events per week.

Easy, son. I, your MINI mother, can vouch for you. We have to remember that Haemish is worked like a slave at his job, and sometimes actually has to sleep there. I think he's done just fine as far as attendance goes. However, if you do not come to my Labor Day weekend party, I shall un-adopt you!

just kidding....sorta

Should we mention if we're bringing a guest? I have a tagalong that wants to join. :P

She brought you into this world, and she can take you out of it, too!

Heh.

Cheers,
Matthew Z.

P.S. Regarding Wagnbat's "extensive" attendance record for the previous five-week period, I'm short one event, perhaps, with the abortive attempt at finding Grumbler and Co BEFORE the Towson BBQ.

When all is said and done, I was probably happier touring scenic Port Deposit, then returning to MINI of Towson, post-haste, than joining THAT "fun run".

But yer totally whupped on miles, old son. Ohio and back for a two-day MINI extravaganza, with privileged parking at PKI, day and night rides "The Beast", and mid-day refreshment courtesy of the Hofbrau Haus.

All of the above IS in jest, naturally. We should probably revise event counts, however. FIVE events in one day really does seem to be a case padding our resumes a bit, don't you think?

When exactly will this party be? I work retail, and the sooner I request off, the better. Im almost done with the new smaller MINI cookie cutters.

Don't worry...I'll start a thread with all the info in early August, so we can whip ourselves into a frenzy by the party date.

Back on topic...have fun, you guys and drive safe! Someone eat a big ole cup/cone for me.
I have painting to do, so I can't come.....

OK- so I don't follow this thread for obvious reasons (see where I'm from?) but had to chime in since I feel like a semi adopted DCMM....
Edge does exist.
He was my Bone Creeper partner at the MOTD.
Edge rocks.
Don't make me come up there..... oh wait a minute I will be up there for new years and expecting a little meet of some sort to be arranged... Marina, James, Janelle, Paul, Debbie, Haemish... you know who I am talking to. Paul just has to wear that shirt again.

oh and I am the guy with the cigar (wait a minute we all have cigars, the one in the front)... the pic is just so Paul remembers what shirt he was wearing....

Sorry for the hijack!

Chris

Shoot.

I'm driving down to Reston from Boston tomorrow, but I'm not leaving until I'm off work around 5pm so my ETA into the area down there isn't until 12 or 1am.

Well, if anybody spots a BRG/W with black mirrors and Mass plates...that's me. I'll mostly be around Reston, but I'll be heading to Baltimore on Sunday to watch the Sox at Camden Yards...and maybe again up to Baltimore to check out a tattoo shop on Monday...and then back up to Baltimore on Tuesday to hang out with a friend...then probably back up to Boston early Wednesday morning!

Getting to this meet would have been cool...maybe next time!

Chris,

Great pic!! And just give us the dates when you have 'em! I'm sure we could work up a mid-winter drive of some sort, or at least a dinner!

Now, where is that shirt....

Normally I'd think so... But when people only attend onr or a couple of those events... Even the coordinators took breaks from the events. Me and Chai (my wife) made every event.

BTW, you missed the awesome fireworks on the fourth.

EDIT:
Oh. And Chai and I will be attending these 3 events as well.

Really looking forward to seeing you and Mel again man! I'll be sure to keep the calendar open... if there's snow on the ground it could make the event REALLY interesting!

Just to be absolutely clear... the reports of me purchasing a Hummer have been greatly exaggerated!!

Woo Hoo!!! David ate ice cream tonight!

It was a good drive, it's hard to find some decent roads that aren't busy in Fairfax County but those were really good.

And it was nice to have a drive end so close to home

OK, you've gotta elaborate on this... within the guidelines of course.

Krut and I were leaving the event, and up ahead on the left, was a car pulled over by two popo's at an intersection... As we passed them, we rolled down our windows between each other, and started verbally jabbing each other, which resulted in flooring the Mini's and having them take off, away from the intersection. After about 2-3 seconds, we both stopped before reaching the speed limit, looked at each other and said 'Cops'.

It was dark, they were too busy ticketing someone else, and we didn't actually screech the wheels, or break the speed limit. Plus they know we're faster than they are.
