Would love to come

Hi. New memeber here. My husband and I would love to come, but we are up in Rockville, MD. How would we get there from here and how long a drive is it? I guess that will tell us if we can come or not.

Welcome to the club . Hope you guys can make it to the event! From Rockville, it's probably a 2.0-2.5 hour drive. There are a number of ways you can go to get here, but probably the easiest is:

I-95 South
I-295 West/North
RT 33 West
Left on Shannon Hill Rd
Left into Cooper Vineyards!

Here is another way to go (skip I-295):

I95 South
RT 54 West (exit 92)
RT 33 West
Left on Shannon Hill Rd
Left into Cooper Vineyards!

Anyone from DCMM going?

Hey, are there any of you all going from DC? If so, want to meet somewhere and convoy?

See you guy tomorrow either at Bruster's for the drive or at Cooper Vineyards . Don't forget to bring money for the event, picnic lunch if you're not buying at CV, camera, and jacket/umbrella if needed.. The wine tasting will be indoors, but of course the MINIs will not be .

The weather report is rain in the morning and thunderstorms in the afternoon. How much is there to do inside other than the wine tasting? I assume the band is supposed to be outside and the rain will shut them down.

Mike -- sorry we couldn't make it. The grubby weather was only one of several contributing factors.

Hope everyone had a good time. It sounded like a really great event

Turned out to be a good time, with great people, and great wine (& cheese!).

The weather in Lousia/Richmond was much more favorable than northern virginia, DC, and maryland. Once we got about 60 miles south of DC, the rain stopped, and didn't start again until we were back within 60 miles of DC. It was cold and overcast, but not too bad.

Pretty good turnout for the event. I'd estimate about 20-25 Minis... Maybe more, but I didn't actually count.

I'll upload what few pics I have later this week... Seems the misses didn't charge her camera battery. :/

Hi DCMM friends, thanks for coming to the event yesterday! I was very happy to have seen so many MINIs considering the weather (stopped raining early morning, was cloudy and cool the rest of the day ) . It was my first time leading a drive and I made 21 copies of the route map. We had 19 MINIs at Bruster's for the group drive so that was fantastic and 30+ MINIs at Cooper Vineyards including a classic Mini RHD pickup!! It worked out great and I hope everyone enjoyed the 50-mile drive . We had a wide variety of colors which was pleasant to see.

Big thanks to Cooper Vineyards, Crown MINI of Richmond, the people who donated the pumpkins , the cancer research folks, and MINI and Mini owners across the area for making this event a success .

Crown MINI brought two MCSC - one Chili Red and one Hot Orange to show . As MINI owners, we received some nice goodies from them including a CD case and notebook plus a few other things .

The wine sampling was delicious. For us, it was the Sweet Louisa and Chardonnay . Purchased 2 bottles of Sweet Louisa (like grape juice!) and 1 bottle of 2004 Chardonnay.

Pics are finally up.

Sorry took so long. Lazy.

Only half pictures of meeting at Rally point, a couple of the drive over, and of entering Cooper Vineyards, as the wife forgot to charge the battery. I only blame her, because it's her 2 week old Birthday gift, and already she neglects it. *cackle*

Good eye! The dog belongs to an MCS owner from Hampton Roads. It is only 9 weeks old . What a GREAT dog - we fell in love with it and went to visit a local Shiba Inu breeder over the weekend. We may have one of our own soon (maybe).
