MINI shops

Aloha folks-

I'm in from Honolulu for about another 10-days.

I will be in the DC area until this Sunday and Emmitsburg, Maryland until June 18.

I'd appreciate any info on MINI performance and or parts shops in the vicinity.

I've spotted some really nice MINI's since I got here on Monday!

Aloha!

Hiya(that's mainland for "aloha")
I don't know of any particular shops that carry aftermarket mods specifically for the MINI. I don't exactly lived right in DC, so there might be places that have escaped my knowledge.
Most mods that I have seen were bought online from the vendors here.

DCMM members, can we help on this quest?

Not an answer to your question, but a MINI kind of event this weekend if you're interested.

There is an autocross tomorrow (Sunday) in Largo MD at Fed EX field. You will get a chance to see some MINIs then. The G and H stock groups will run mid to late morning (depending on how fast the earlier groups run). STS and STX will be running in the first heats.

If you show up I have a Silk Green / Black MINI, I would love to say Howdie (that mainland talk for hello).

Kgdblu and John-

Thanks for the assist and info on the autocross in MD.

I'm in Falls Church and may try and swing out there. It would be nice to catch an event before I split.

I'll route consult with my host here.

Thanks again folks and if you are ever Hawai'i bound feel free to drop a line or PM message!

Aloha!

John

My husband will be racing as well, in GStock. Indie blue with white roof. Paul's 6'4" and kinda hard to miss.
You'll be able to ask about mods there, as there are a few MINIs that aren't in Gstock. Plus, if you've never watched autocross before, you'll get your fill.

Given the distance you have come you might want to look at Helix MINI Sports. They are a sponser on NAM, and many people have had work done by them. They are located in Phil,PA. Not in the area but not far away either.

Aloha folks-

Thanks again for the info. My schedule just got tight so it looks like I won't be able to haed out to the autocross before leaving to Emmitsburg this morning.

Helix 13 is a great suggestion, I should have done that earlier in the week on my tourist portion of the trip when I had more time.

If I had my MINI I probably could have breezed out and back in no time flat. However the 4-Dr FORD TAURUS from Hertz isn't exactly what I'd call a high performance vehicle!

Oh, and I did an excellent job of getting totally lost on Highway 7 returning from a Leesburg shopping safari the other day!

Thanks again for all your assistance!

Aloha!
