Paramount Kings Island
I just signed up for the Kings Island event! Any other DCMMers / MINIs in the DC area planning on heading out there?
(BTW, I have two events in the works for July! Expect posts soon!

And if there's enough people going/interest, CmdrVimes, I'd like to get a caravan going! I can't carpool though, as I'm heading out to Mechanicsburg, PA from Ohio for a week for work stuff.

I signed up for this ages ago, but I'm fence-sitting as to whether I'll really go... time off work, another long weekend and hotel bills...
Man, I want to go, but I'm just not sure... I love roller-coasters though... and I haven't been to King's Island since I was in college...
You gonna wear your PJs Paul??

Hey Paul, what are the dates...
I still want to host a DCMM cookout and was going to just pick a date and post it just now but noted your email just in time. Let me know what dates you've already got picked so I don't conflict if I can avoid it...

All,
I'm up for the carpool. Already PM'd Mon-sewer Vimes, now everyone knows..
Hey Paul, flex those event-planning brain cells, and get us some berthing!
If all else fails, I can bring a 2-man tent, and my hammock tent for myself!
There's 3 spots, right? Just get yer butt to MWR, and grab a couple of sleeping bags..
Cheers,
Matthew Z.

Okay,
Maybe I'm not too specific with you on this --
Locking doors, windows with blinds or drapes, and a bathroom. A phone would be nice.
I ain't sleeping in my MCS, in the Wally-World parking lot.
Particularly if folks are carpooling. I have enough money to rent a room, and will do so. So when I "go back to the room for a nightcap", I'm not SITTING IN MY MINI IN THE WALLY-WORLD LOT!
Geez!
Oh yeah, for CmdrVimes, et al, my schedule is at your command. I'm on vacation until 13 July. Only way I won't make this trip or the Annapolis parade is if my budget can afford tix to Japan (gotta see the in-laws).

Well, fine then, let me direct you to my associate website: http://www.expedia.com !
-Paul!
Edit: Ok, here: http://www.redroof.com/ . It's supposed to be half decent, and newly remodeled. It's the closest I could find to PKI, and the prices are good. Do a search for Mason, OH. It'll be the only hotel that pops up. PS - It's where I'm staying!

Yeah, you're not really a Sea Lawyer, you just play one on NAM! Or did you sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night?
Rant over. Paul(!), I'm on the waiting list at the kewl MINI spot everyone ELSE will be staying at, and reservations clerk (Sandy) aniticipates openings, since cancellations ALWAYS happen. I'm #3 on the list.
For a size perspective here, 48 total rooms, with only 3 going to non-MINI folks. Rawk!
Paul, I think we'll be joining you as the official DCMM contingent, at the Chez Rouge Roof, in scenic Mason, Ohio.

First Ride: 9:30am
{etc.}

Thanks ernesto! Hopefully my package will arrive soon...
BTW, using the Red Roof Inn link that I posted above just reserves the hotel room. You can cancel up to 24 hours beforehand and not have your card charged. So all of you waiting on the Kirkwood could use the Red Roof Inn as youe safety net!

Hey all,
Anyone ever been on a coaster outside the U.S.? Their philosophy was similiar to our original philosophy on coasters --
Wooden construction, tight, fast designs. Went on one at Big Bang Smurf Park (don't ask) in Metz, France back in 1991. Shweet!
Wasn't quite as sold on the giant furniture to give the park attendees the "Smurf's eye-view"..:-)
Cheers,
Matthew Z.
