DCMM New Members Welcome Thread
I did get the intentional Star Trek reference. I think I am a bigger geek that I think I am.
Dual Citizenship?
Hi All!
I've been on the NAM forum for a while, but just sent in my membership request to the DCMM site.
Do you accept "Dual Citizenship" MINI owners? I work in the DC area and spend alot of time here, but I still call NC home. I'm here in the DC metroplex probably 20-22 days a month--I go down south for a few days whenever I get a break.
I came to the meeting at MOS a few months ago and met some of you, I wanted to get involved a bit more with the MINI folks up this way and it seems like y'all are a good bunch to hang out with!
Anywho, hopefully I'll get a few days off of work and see you at one of the upcoming events.
Oh, BTW, I have an 03 MCS dark silver all over with dark Rota Subzero Wheels...and I'm kind of a motorhead/tinkerer type. I'm always fixin' stuff whether it's broke or not!
Take care,
Tony

Hi and welcome, I am a transplanted Tar Heel who grew up in High Point and graduated from UNC-Charlotte. My wife and I currently live in Old Town Alexandria. Hopefully We'll meet at a DCMM event soon.

I am going to brave the Post Office today to send out the following new member packets. I am actually going to try to go RIGHT NOW - in the hopes that the little kiosk in the front won't be in use at 7:30 am. Now, if all the Santas of the world are at the Post Office at 7:30 am, I might wait until Sunday or Monday to send out the packets - but they will be going in the mail soon to the following new members!

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season! I am still in disbelief that I actually have my own Mini. I'm one of those that's anxiously awaiting the arrival of my welcome packet. I used to be so envious when I saw a group of Minis driving around and wanted to be a part of it
I saw my dream Mini while visiting Luray Caverns this past October 2006. It was an all astro black with lots of chrome, driving lamps, and 17" R90 rims. At that moment, I knew I would have one just like it someday. I kept asking my wife if she thought the paint was the coolest thing shes ever seen. Her reply, "uh huh uh huh"
Anyway, I didn't like the new 2007's as much as the previous design (R55?) so I was frantic to find one that was still in stock. After checking ALL of the dealerships in the USA, I found one that came pretty darn close at Otto's Mini in West Chester, PA. I was looking for an all Astro Black but there wasn't a single one with the options I was looking for left in the ENTIRE country. But, I saw this one at Otto's and it was love. And, the silver roof is growing on me
Here's what I have: 2006 MCS, AB/S (Astro Black, Silver Roof), JCW, DSC, HK, SS, #1, #2, #3, #4, Tartan red/black leather seats, sunroof, Chrome Line Interior, anthracite headliner, arm rest, chrome grill, driving lamps, chrome mirror caps, 17" webspokes with performance run-flats.
I'm still trying to figure out how to get my own nifty signature/logo thing at the bottom of my posts. Does anyone know how to customize those little cartoonish drawings of the Minis which show the color and rims?

I'm hoping that in the springtime, we can have a "JCWs of DCMM" photo shoot. I think it would be a great pic! Of course, you'll probably have traded in your JCW for the R56 by then Kurt.
