We are ready to join DC Metro MINIs. Our MINI should arrive at Tate sometime this week. What is the process?
Thanks,
Michael and Kandice

Please go to our web site www.dcmetrominis.org.
Follow the link for membership.
And you are off!
The payment goes to our treasurer and once per week she summarizes for me all the new memberships. Then, we start getting your stuff ready (t shirt, membership cards etc). It takes about one month from the time to sign up to the time you have everything in hand.

Well finally, After 3.5 years of ownership and getting to know a few of you I finally got a membership.
It took long enough to get over that hurdle.
So, what's next? I paid the dues and clicked the agreement.

Hope you do make the Cumberland run. And it sounds like you have a kewl MINI. But hey... no such thing as a "plain" MINI. They're eye-popping even with no mods !
Not so new, newbie
Hello, all! Even though I signed up awhile ago, I actually just started coming to this message board a few weeks before MINI Takes the States, so I guess I should introduce myself.
I live in Germantown, MD, and have had my Electric Blue MINI since April 2003, license MINIMUM. My hubby had to actually talk me into it, because the first Mini I had ever seen was an original one at our annual BMW CCA Oktoberfest in New Hampshire. It was an old, small, tinny, racing car that I wanted no parts of (no offense to the original Mini enthusiasts--it just wasn't my cup of tea [pun intended]).
I was a BMW 318ti enthusiast all the way.
At any rate, went for the test drive at Sterling and it was love at first .1 of a mile. I anxiously awaited its arrival (back in the day, it was a 10-month wait, however, we got lucky and it turned out to be ONLY a 4.5 month wait).
I love my MINI--she has been nothing but fun, fun, fun. Reminds me of when I got my first car (a '67 Mercury Cougar with the "automatic" stick on the floor) and how much fun and freedom I had driving myself around. Feels like I stepped back in time and I'm feeling cool again.
(Much cheaper than therapy, I think.)
So, my original intent of posting here was to thank Jen for my Welcome package for joining DC Metro MINIs! I just received it and it was so much more than I had anticipated! I love the name badge that comes with--what a GREAT touch, for all those MINI events I am hoping to participate in. And the calendar, and the cards to pass along, and the DCMM decal, and EVERYTHING else (not to mention the cool DCMM t-shirt! Cool graphics.
You all look like you're going to be a fun group to play with!
Happy Motoring!

Welcome, FlorencePS ! Where's the pics ??
Just got my DCMM Welcome Package in the mail yesterday, too (THANKS JEN). Lots of cool play toys in there, you're right. Can't wait to "tag" someone.
Love the licence tag "MINIMUM". Cute.
Just found out yesterday my number one choice for a tag was denied. Can you believe someone in Maryland already has "MINIAC" ?? Well, at least now my tag will go along with my fiance's. Hers: GO PATS. Mine: GOEAGLS
