What time at I81 & I66?

I would like to hook up with you at I81 & I66 because I'll be coming down I81 from central PA. Do you have an approximate TOA. I'll definitely have my FRS on and can listen in for the group. Look forward to hooking up with DCMM and PhillyMINI members. Thanks.

Geo.

If we leave by 7:45 we should be at the I-81/I-66 junction by 8:30 or so. But that's a huge estimate. Check your PM's:smile:

A gratuitous bump and a reminder if you're coming along....

We'll be meeting in the parking lot in front of the Starbucks Coffee at 5623 Stone Road in Centreville VA. Please make sure you're there and ready to leave by 7:30.

Directions (For those of you with Nav these may be different directions, but they're the easiest from I-66):

From Maryland and all points north, take I-95 South to I-495 (Washington Beltway). Exit onto I-495 towards Silver Spring and Bethesda MD. Follow I-495 into Virginia and exit on to I-66 West towards Front Royal.

Follow I-66 West to exit 52 (US-29) and make a right at the bottom of the ramp to go south on US 29. At the first light, make a right on to Stone Road. Go 2 traffic lights (approximately 3/4 mile) and take the first right into the shopping center. Make a left once you get into the shopping center, Starbucks is approximately 1/2 way down the shopping center.

This is a great jump off point as in this shopping center is the Starbucks, Giant (supermarket for those outside of DC), McDonalds, and a Manhattan Bagel.

If need be we can stop at the Mobile station on US-29 as we head to I-66.

We'll use channel 7-21 on your FRS/GMRS radio on the way down.

Those of you coming along, PM me and I'll give you may cell phone number so you can contact me if you're running late. We should be gathering early enough that traffic shouldn't be too bad...

Leaving Friday some time. Any others leaving Friday?

I've got one of the last cabins and may have to let go of it because I'm not sure yet about whether I'm going. Would like to caravan on Friday. I'm a newbie to the group and to the Dragon and to my new Mini S.

I should be part of the big Thursday caravan.

Does anyone have a, um, 'copy' of the Nav CD for the vicinity of the Dragon I can borrow for the way down? Perty please?

I do but.... it's an older CD... The TN side of the dragon is on one disk... and the NC side on another.... And of course the Northeast disk is only good until the VA/TN state line...

That's better than what I have. The whole time in TN I am driving in a sea of roadless green.

Could I borry it from ya?

No, you can't...

I no longer have a MINI with Nav, so you can keep them though...

Nope, we decided to skip it this time and go with a PDA based system...

Of course I discovered that one of my GPS receivers quit working last night, so I'll be running with Plan B...

She contacted me the other day... Didn't say anything about you though...

Thought you shipmates were supposed to look after each other?

Sorry I'll miss the caravan down... I'm in Charleston, SC right now, working (yes, STILL working here after midnight... I'm not getting much sleep tonight).

BUT... I will be looking to return to the DC area in a caravan on Sunday! I'm not an earlybird though, so hopefully there will be others who want to leave in the late morning or around lunchtime?

See you all tomorrow evening!
