Anyone had their arches painted?

Preferably in the Northern Virginia area?
Which bodyshop did you use? How much was it?
I heard Wagon Works did a few Mini's but I'm not sure what price range to expect, as they are one of the best in the area, and their prices reflect that..

Not in N. VA, but minicoopermike very recently had his beautifully painted in Richmond for a very decent price. Gimme a minute and I'll edit this post and insert the link to the thread!

Here's a link to my thread:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=42457

In terms of price I paid $160 for new parts (bumper trim and wheel arches, but side skirts were FREE), $390 for everything to be painted black, and then I decided to add silver for another $190. Added bulk 3M clear bra myself at $100 for a grand total of $840.

I would say $400-500 is reasonable to paint all parts if you're doing a single color without the extras.

Make sure they prep each piece which includes sanding, applying a filler and flex agent, primer, paint, and clearcoat. I think my parts have a total of 6-8 layers. The parts are quite smooth now however I can still see a little bit of texture as the painter told me they probably wouldn't be totally smooth as I'd be adding too much paint. It will make all the difference in the world if the body shop knows how to correctly paint this kind of trim!

Hope this helps

- Mike

That looks great!!
well I called Wagonworks for a quote and they won't do it, because of the texture, they have no way to properly paint it.
They said it'd peel off eventually even if they scuffed it and sprayed proper adhesives..
Any comments?
