Ok maybe I should clarify, I listed those options in no particular order....

My preference is to reschedule, and if we don't hear back from the club by mid-afternoon it looks like I'm going to pack up the boy and drive down there to sort this out....

And Paul, quit your complaining! :r azz:

Dang! if I'd seen this sooner it would be the perfect gift for the party. (I'm sure people would fight over it).

Speedeez Mini Cooper Deluxe Playset $19.99

Look CLOSELY... the BIG MCS opens like a Transformer(tm) to reveal a garage with track/ramps. Includes two tiny Coopers to play with.

Should the party be postponed, I will send an e mail to everyone who has paid the event fee via PayPal to find out if you are able to come on the rescheduled date. If not, your money will be refunded via PayPal.

I am hoping that the weather forecasters are wrong and we will be able to have a nice party this Saturday night!

Plus - I hate snow!

We're under a Winter Storm Watch for tomorrow and I most likely won't make the drive on my toasted 33,000 mile runflats . Sucks . Sounds like a mix of everything here which is worse than just plain snow. Layers of ice . I spent 1/2 hr this morning scraping 1/4" of ice and snow off my driveway that we received last night.

Time to bust out the MINI car cover .

Another vote for postponing the event, but NO cancellations!!

Ok, I still haven't heard about the cancel policy of the club -- but we will get that sorted out. SO, let's PLAN on Postponing -- Means Don't show up tomorrow night!!!

Dates???

I'm thinking 1/29/05 (so we can also celebrate Michael's and My 5th Anniversary) BUT let's get a poll going on the date to reschedule:

1/29/2005 (My anniversary too)
2/5/2005
2/12/2005 (the Saturday before Valentine's Day)

Ok, Now we really need about 30 people to come to pay for the space so, date with the most people wins. If you can make all three, let me know.

Hugs,
PB

I will be out of town on the 29th. So my vote is for either of the other two dates.

geez...6-12 inches predicted. This area can't handle 2-3 inches, so the end of the world as we know it is about to happen.
We can make all 3 dates, but I vote for next Sat.

We much prefer the 1/29 date.
2/5 is tough.
2/12 is impossible.

At this time - all of the dates are fine with me though I'm technically supposed to be moving out the weekend of the 29th -- I, unfortunately, just don't know where TO right now! I'm supposed to vacate my current digs as of 01/31 so it'd be really nice to know where I'm living after next weekend. I really hate the thought of moving all my crap to a storage locker just to have to move it all again, but the job search is not exactly going at warp speed. I want to come to the party, but my job search will dicate my new hometown (hopefully sooner, rather than later!) and quite possibly my ability to attend.

That contract I was supposed to have (pending a security contract) up & went POOF! -- seems they didn't have a *signed* contract from the DOJ for the project and were trying to hire me on speculation... which they failed to inform me. Anyhow, I'm still doing the job search right now -- I have a couple of leads in Richmond and one in Chicago right now. Hopefully I'll know if any of those leads pan out next week!

We are a GO for the 5th!!!

We are go on for the 5th. OK, who can make it?

If you RSVP'd and now can't make it, let Jen (at events@dcmetrominis.org) know so she can do a refund.

I'll get Michael to change the date in the thread.

Ok, I'm there (with Husband --- without kid) Party on.

Hugs,
PB

Yeah, my OEM car cover froze to the roof too, well to the big Cooper Flags decal. Lots of ice crystals, but no damage. The cover did it's job well, keeping most of the sleet and freezing rain from turning my MINI into a 4-wheeled ice cube .

Hi Everyone - RSVP?

I have gotten one - just one! - response confirming an RSVP for this event. Does that mean everyone who previously RSVP'd is coming? If yes, great!! If no, please get in touch with me.

And how about the rest of you who could not make it on the 29th? Is this date any better?

I can't believe we have only 19 people interested in a party!!!!

Err, just to clarify, if we previously RSVP'd for the last date, do you want us to RSVP again? Or is that previous RSVP still good?

I just want to be sure that those who RSVP'd previously realized that I still had them down and were actually coming.

Ack!

Of course I've been looking forward to this, and wouldn't ya know it.....I have a cold.
I got it at school, of course...we're into our 3rd week of the semester.

I won't be contagious by Sat. but I heretofore disavow anything weird I might say or do at the party, as I will be prolly on Dayquil.

ok, my cold is pretty much over...just a cough remains.

Anyhoo, I got a pinata yesterday and will fill it with treats for the party. We also have a table we can bring. It's bigger than my card table...one of those folding aluminum tables. Shall we bring it? I need to know ASAP so we can clean it off and get a tablecloth for it.

I've got a the little cocktail table (seats two) that I could also bring if we need some table space.

Well if we're only looking at 20 people then I don't think we need extra tables... If we've made it up to 40 people, then we could use the tables
